Ryan Giggs, at the age of 34 is obviously in the twilight years of his playing career.
So now is the time for him to think of ‘life after playing’.
Seems he has done that too.
It would seem he has his sights set on a coaching capacity and I for one would be
very happy if it was with United.
He has been an exemplary figure at United for the best part of 20 years - both on
and off the pitch.
I don’t recall a single incident where his ‘personal life’ has made it into the
newspapers. The ocasions where he has caused problems on the pitch have
been more rare than a Liverpool League winning season !
This summer he will begin studying for his UEFA ‘A’ Coaching Licence, according to
FAW Technical Director Osian Roberts.
"Ryan has indicated he wants to come and do his Uefa 'A' Licence with us in
Aberystwyth in June," Roberts said.
"It's great news for us in Wales and I think it's also great news for football that
someone of his calibre and status will stay in the game.
"With all his experience and expertise he's going to be a great and valued
member to football in the future."
Old Trafford has turned out a few good managers over the years such as Gordon
Strachan, Steve Bruce, Paul Ince and Mark Hughes all making the grade.
Even if Giggs does take his coaches licence he will still have to go further and take
UEFAs top level exams to be a manager but if he has his heart set on an idea
history shows he tends to make it.
Manchester United m,anager one day maybe ?
