John Terry has warned Manchester United that Chelsea are only going to get better this season.
Chelsea are now within five points of United after their fourtunate 1-0 win over Newcastle, and Terry is confident that his side can overturn their deficit quickly.
He has admired United's performances so far this term, but believes they are playing to their full potential and have been lucky with injuries.
And Terry has urged his Chelsea team-mates to find their best form and crank up the pressure on United over the gruelling Christmas period.
"Manchester United are probably playing the best football they can play at the moment. They've had very few injuries so far," he said.
"Whereas we know as a team we've got another level to go to. We need to take the game to teams and then no-one can live with us. We must go on a run of games and keep winning.
"We must keep the pressure up. Christmas is a difficult period and United have got tough games.
"We must just keep winning and keep on like we know we're capable of."
