After all his efforts, determination and dedication Rooney still misses out on the awards.
He helps destroy the gunners, plays a blinding game, does everything you could ask of him yet still comes out a loser in some eyes
But he was up against some tough oppostion.
The Barnsley goalkeeper Luke Steele was voted as the FA Cup "Player of the Round" for the fifth round.
The on-loan West Brom keeper starred in the Tykes' shock 2-1 win at Liverpool.
He will join the eight winners from the previous rounds and two players from subsequent rounds in the "Team of the FA Cup" for 2007/08.
The other contenders for the award were Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, Cardiff's Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and Portsmouth keeper David James .
Full credit to the winner and the other contenders.
Maybe next time people will see Rooney for the great player he is.
