Rubbish ^

The players are pros, they know what they have to do. They shouldn't feel the pressure of going for a treble FFS....just get on with it they should and play good attacking football.

If we can't score against Portsmouth in 90 minutes at OT then we don't deserve to win the treble.

well that was an insane game of football it has to be said. all credit to portsmouth, they came with a game plan and executed it in the perfect way and went with the luck. well done, hope they go on to win the competition.

i think its fair to say we can feel hard done by with the ref. some bad bad decisions on his behalf.

i think this match also raises the isse of an out and out goal scorer for united. i mean i know we scored more goals this season than we did with ruud. we are all aware. but its times like that you need a natural goal scorer to just PUT THE BALL IN THE NET lol. you talk of the treble, you need to remember we had 4 highly talented goal scorers that season at their best. but now all we have is rooney. and he is highly talented we all know but on the goal front his not consistent as the likes of ruud.

anyway, chin up reds. still have the league and the champions league to play for. and who here wouldnt be happy with that on the mantle?

can take a lot of positives from this match with the negatives

Oh well, there is always next season.
I'm just ****ed off at the way we lost. We should have scored several times. We should have had a penalty with Ronnie.
But no point in talking about "should of's" now. Not going to change alot.
Next season we'll be even better, i'm sure we'll do it.

We just have to concentrate on winning the 2 Major trophies left to us.

probably this will put less stress on United now.Without having to worry about the FA cup anymore, the Epl and CL are of the utmost significance.Cheer up,lads.Usually when we get knocked out of a cup,we always play much better in the other competitions.

It really ****ed me off to read about the loss this morning, didnt seem like it was our day again at old t.???? All i know is this team still has two big events prem and champions l to focus on and maybe we'll get one?

The brightest thing is that we have a young team with more talent in various ways then 99% of all clubs on planet, this team will be winning big for years to come!!!!

I watched the match here in Australia and its 3am now...and just cant bloody sleep....total nightmare...got to admit how unlucky were we...dominated the match and lost to some ridiculous luck from POMPEE...their game plan was pretty much defend and wait for a lucky goal....

so many misses...van der sar had to come off cos of injuries...then red card...then Ferdinand went the correct direction for the penalty...but....

well anyway....no one to blame...good work ferdinand aswell...

Are we in some big troubles now that VDS is said to have groin injury and TK just got a straight red and soon we have to be playing a barely-fit Foster with a even younger TK?

without doubt rooneys miss in the first half cost us again maybe its time to invest in a true goalscoring striker to play with either wayne or carlos because neither a prolific and if ronaldo aint on fire were in the **** . As for the treble we keep talking about it but dont we see were adding pressure to the games

We hvaen't gotten any news on VDS yet. There is a week to go before we play Derby. Hopefully he'll be back by then.

If the worst comes to the worst, we could play Ben Foster, or even Tom Heaton. Its not like Derby will be that big a challenge for us anyway. We'll give them a good hammering next week.

in 99 fergie said he doubted he would ever see another treble as so many things needed to come into play and you need a massive amount of luck .

i am 41 i will not see a treble again except for on my dvd player . and solskjaers won it !

I think realistically a Treble was always going to be asking a lot. '99 was a special year for MUFC and to ask for it to be repeated is a huge task. Having the potential and going out there and doing it are two different things. No doubt we have a great squad but for any squad no matter how big or strong, a Treble is a massive ask

you can only win a treble once you have won a double.

when did the craze start where a team gets knocked out of a competition WITHOUT winning ANYTHING and everyone says that the end of the "TREBLE DREAM".

Amazing feat that will take some team to achieve again. The boys of 99 had some crazy games where if luck was not on their side then it would be a whole different story.

Its happened once in 130 years of Manchester United

i complately agree with antdevil78. We had so much luck that season, and lets face it the teams around us back then were not to the standard they are at today.
Correct me if im wrong, but there didnt used to be as many international friendlies etcc.
First of all, lets get back top of the table, and sit back and see who we get drawn against in the ECL.

Now try discussing the word "double" and see how far we get; even Alex says its taboo in OT.

only complete idiots talk about trebles , remember it has only happened once in the entire history of football , and may never happen again.
we rode all our luck in 99 , and this sort of luck does not come around very often.
i despair at people who talk about doubles and trebles , me personally i am happy with one trophy out of four every year.
the present day united fan is spoilt by success , people like me still remember the 26 year wait for the title.

Agreed.
I was at the game myself and I watched on in disbelief as the game unfolded.
We should have had a peno and we should have won but Im sick of moaning
about it. We were unlucky, it happens from time to time.....

Id rather lose the Fa Cup than lose out in the Prem and CL.
We still have a lot to look forward to this season, so Im gonna put
this game behind me as quickly as possible.
At least Chelsea, Arse and Pool wont win the Cup, so there is always that
silver lining.

After Arsenal's draw today, it puts us in pole position for the League.
Im just looking forward to the Derby game now. Time to move on.

good to know i aint talkin rubbish. fans should follow what i am guessing fergie would be saying to the players.

All you can do is win your next game and the trophies will sort themselves out

Derby (Away). Respect to Derby but could be the perfect game to put a bit more pressure on Arsenal with a convincing win to get the gears in motion for the Liverpool battle
