Turn pack over.
Read cooking instructions.
That is all. :D

Seriously though I don't understand people who say they 'can't cook'.

Fair enough I could never work in a restaurant cooking cuisine food but with most stuff you just preheat an oven, put the food in and take it out when it's ready! Boiling veg or an egg is really simple - boil some water, put in veg/egg, drain the water when it's ready and serve. The only difficulty for people I can think of is knowing the cooking time but most packets of food have instructions on them these days - you can even buy veg that's already been cut up for you!

Just don't ask me to make a souffle!!! :p

there people cook sucks and some cook tastey food

As long as it's edible I'll eat anything :D

I've got a few cookbooks at home. One of them is called 'Million Menus' and it has the pages split in 3 (starter, main course, dessert) which you can flip over and mix & match so there is literally 1 million different combinations. Haven't quite made it through them all yet!!!

Nope, probably never will! It's not often I eat a 3-course meal but I've tried quite a few of the main courses, mostly the chicken and steak ones.

Some tasty recipes!!! :)

"Hello Dominos Pizza yes I'd like to order a large Mighty Meaty Pizza please"

Seriously I used to be that bad, I would never try making anything in case I messed it up. But in the past year I've slowly moved onto the microwave stuff and quickly mastered that. I can now use the oven :D and I'm mixing it with the big boys, cooking chicken nuggets and chips

Time to get this thread bumping, c'mon people, post some good ones...

From www.epicurious.com Coffee Braised Ancho Chile Ribs (I don't use a jalapeno just cause I don't like them, but this recipe is amazing and easy if I can do it)

Relish each step of preparing coffee- and chile-braised short ribs: Searing a brown crust on the ribs before they bake adds a deep caramelized flavor; sautéing the aromatics (onions, peppers, garlic) in the drippings makes the sauce base really fragrant.

Servings: Makes 6 servings.
subscribe to Bon Appétit
Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
5 pounds 1-inch-thick flanken-style short ribs

1 large onion, chopped
1 large red bell pepper, chopped
1 large jalapeño, seeded, finely chopped
6 garlic cloves, chopped
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons ancho chile powder*
2 teaspoons dried oregano
1 1/4 teaspoons ground cumin
2 cups strong freshly brewed coffee (not espresso or dark roast)
1 14 1/2-ounce can diced tomatoes in juice
1 tablespoon tomato paste

Chopped fresh cilantro
Preparation
Preheat oven to 300°F. Heat oil in heavy large pot over medium-high heat. Sprinkle short ribs with salt and pepper. Working in batches, add ribs to pot and cook until browned, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer to platter.

Add onion, red bell pepper, and jalapeño to drippings in pot. Reduce heat to medium, cover, and cook until onion is tender, stirring occasionally, about 6 minutes. Stir in garlic and sauté uncovered 1 minute. Add brown sugar, ancho chile powder, oregano, and cumin; stir 15 seconds. Stir in coffee, tomatoes with juice, and tomato paste. Bring to boil, scraping up browned bits. Return ribs and any juices to pot; bring to boil.

Cover and bake until meat is very tender, about 1 hour 45 minutes. Spoon fat from surface of sauce. Season sauce to taste with salt and pepper. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead. Cool slightly. Chill uncovered until cold, then cover and refrigerate. Rewarm, covered, over medium heat before continuing.)

Transfer ribs to platter. Spoon sauce over and sprinkle with chopped cilantro.

*Available in the spice section of most supermarkets and at Latin markets.

Braised Liver and Onions.

Ingredients
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 x 250 g pack lambs’ liver ( or liver of choice)
1 medium onion
1 x 300 g pack rich onion gravy
salt and freshly milled black pepper
5 fl oz (150 ml) Marsala

Heat the olive oil in a medium-sized frying pan,
then slice the liver pieces in half horizontally
(if they are too thick and chunky), .

Add them to the pan and quickly brown them
in the hot oil for about 2 minutes on each side.

While they’re browning, slice the onion thinly
and then the slices into halves.

Remove the browned liver to a plate,
add a little more olive oil to the pan, if needed,
then fry the onions – keeping the heat high to get them really
brown round the edges while you move
them around now and then – for five minutes.

Now return the liver to the pan, add the contents
of the packet of onion gravy, together with the Marsala,
season well and, when it begins to simmer,
turn the heat down and let it cook gently without a lid for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, steam the potatoes and the vegetables of your choice,
sit down, eat and enjoy. :D
