To be fair ref's need to be told to R off, Torres got kicked the crap outa him and we got nothing..
Now in all fairness's ref's should get death threats cause they are all a-hole's.

the ref acted brilliantly i think. masch was booked for the tackle, he was the CAUTIONED by the ref when he started complaning about a tackle (i forgot on whom).
then torres gets fouled. masch runs a long way from where he's supposed to be to start complaing again.
if you look closely you can see gerrard and benitez telling him to forget it. yet he refuses, therefore the ref sends him off, simple as. to disobey a ref's caution and then disobey your own captain and manager. he deserved it.

Yes, Mascherano deserved to get sent off. What I don't understand, and I really am lost on this point, is how on earth Liverpool supporters say that we bought the ref. Why can't they accept that Mascherano was stupid and get on with it?

yeah I saw it and i agree it did look like a heated debate- which is certainly a breath of fresh air when usually we have a cosy banal analysis by these so called experts.have to say thought it was funny and to add that i can see redknapp in a new light. He actually spoke sense and was spot on in his view of the whole incident. How andy gray can defend Mascherano when he was acting like a bull in a china shop-constantly giving cheek to the ref like a spoilt schoolboy I will never know.
its not just this commentary though I think gray is an odious (deleted) who comes out with too much exagerrated emotional tosh to be considered a serious pundit. I would call him the Kevin Keegan of Sky sports-too much style but not enough substance.

Agreed. He did deserve to be sent off. And are you serious? haha I think you should post that one about the Liverpool fans in the joke section! My bunch of liverpool fans say that the ref cost them the game and the red card changed the game dramatically and some say Mascherno should learn to control himself and that the ref is an idiot. Well the ref did do the correct thing imo and the game did change when he got sent off but we were dominating and in the lead when they had 11 men too so imo we would of won anways =)

LOL - I'd add that he looks like Freddie Mercury's ugly younger brother!
Argentinian footballers aren't the best looking bunch are they?
I'm actually disappointed in Steve Bennett, because he spoilt the game for the fans. It was such a competitive game until that point. Then again, when I see it philosophically, he sent off Ronaldo against Portsmouth, so maybe this karma working its magic.
What bothers me is the inconsistency or refereeing in the EPL.
Steve Heckett should really organize monthly pow-wows and watch videos of games and decide on what warrant a booking and what doesn't.
To me Ashley Cole's foul on Alan Hutton should have been a straight red, which would have meant him missing the game against the Arse.

Faz, see Forum Rules regarding offensive language.
You could tell from Gerrard that he knew what was going to happen.

Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano has been left in shock as to why he was sent off in Sunday’s 3-0 defeat at Manchester United.
The Argentina international was dismissed after two bookable offences, the second for dissent in the 44th minute when he supposedly asked a question to referee Steve Bennett after team-mate Fernando Torres had been booked.
"I do not know why I was sent off,” Mascherano said in the Liverpool Echo.
"I asked the referee what was happening. I did not swear, I was not aggressive and I did not confront him.
"All I did was ask him what was happening, nothing else.
"So when he showed me the second yellow card and sent me off I could not believe it.
"I am sorry to my team-mates because that meant we went down to ten men and that made things even more difficult for us."
Right..... so sorry to hear that. :D :D

i've heard about him and tevez having firey tempers. they are best mates and both had several fights whilst at corinthians however it looks like tevez has matured a lot faster than his argie pal ... i just makes me laugh how he can complain about being sent off it should of happend about 20 mins earlier when he told the ref to f**k off several times after hacking down scholes!

Lol, the scouse are all up in arms because of the (100% clean) tackle on Torres that injured him. Our player beat him to the ball and Torres went down. Of course this is justification for why they should be mad at the ref somehow. So liverpool fan's logic is the following:
Torres gets tackled cleanly
Torres has a right to argue for some reason?
Mascherano then has a right to run 30 yards to scream in the referees face
Mascherano shouldn't be punished.
...
Just goes to show how well a scouse brain works.
I haven't heard any scouser mention the fact that Carragher should have been sent off in the first 10 minutes and we should have had a pen.
