Fergie insists Manchester United will not be 'getting carried away' before the end of the season. United reinforced their position at the top of the Premier League with an overwhelming 4-0 win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The victory places United in an execllent position as they continue their pursuit of a domestic-European Double ahead of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg with Roma in midweek.
And Ferguson has revealed the motivation behind his squad, but insists he will not be allowing any of his players to lose focus.
"The ones who won the title last year realise it is not easy," said Ferguson. "The ones who want to win a medal for the first time, they are showing great energy and enthusiasm. "When you see the confidence of the team, the football they can play, you know you have a chance.
"The important thing - and I am old enough to know it - you must not get carried away and we won't. Right until the last game we will keep playing our game and give it everything."
