I had just broken into my schools cricket first team when I decided I was bored with spending so much time standing in fields and decided to take up tennis. It took me a while to get the serve right but once I did I really started to enjoy playing it.
I had always watched Wimbledon but I started to take more of an interest in the other tournaments, first the slams and then other tournaments on the tour.
I enjoyed watching the likes Becker, Agassi, Sampras and Jeremy Bates with his tank tops! I watched Henman's entire career and am now taking a keen interest in Andy Murray's.
I've always found the men's game more entertaining than the women's but I'm still hoping Anna Kournikova makes a comeback :D

quarter final against davydenko, we are in a for very close fight. saw how davydenko played against ancic last night, he is in form.
the problem with tipsarevic is that he is not consistent, as long as he can maintain his level of performance, he can very soon break into the top 20, or even top 10.
hope this tournament is a start for him.

 Im pretty shocked and only 25 as well.
For her size she is possibly one of the greatest players ever.
best backhand I have ever seen.
I guess she must have lost the love for the game and just isnt bothered
with the whole tour etc...
I know she went through a bad split in her marriage (not sure if they
reconciled though). She has family problems too and was not talking to
some/a lot of her family members. Dont really know details but she seems
a troubled girl.
Never know she might do a Hingis and come back in a year or 2 when she gets
bored.
Edit: just asked my aul one who is a tennis fan. She reckons all the injuries
have taken their toll recently and the fact she is loaded helps a lot. lol

Anyone watch the final of the Hamburg Masters yesterday?
It was a great match between Federer and Nadal.
Federer lead 5-2 in the first and second set but lost the first 7-5 and only won the 2nd in a tie break. Nadal then outplayed him in the decider to win it.
Some superb tennis by both players but I have to say that some of Nadal's passing shots were remarkable.

Women tennis is going to get tight. with all the top 4 women capable of beating one another on their day.
Five straight wimbledon for RF, but he will face the sternest challenge from either djokovic or nadal. nadal keeps on improving and forced federer into a fifth set last year, while djokovic's game will be very strong on grass. always looking forward to the match between nadal and djokovic, always a cracking matchup. federer always gets the easier route to final as the first seed, i am always curious whether he can manage if he were to face both nadal and djokovic consecutively in a tournament.

Yeah Murray is a fighter and a bit of a rebel. Good combination!
Federer is still the best of course but judging by the results this season nobody can argue that Nadal deserves the No.1 spot. Fair play to the guy, he's worked so hard and played great tennis. :)

Federer is still the man as far as I'm concerned. His new coach has ruined it for him, now he tries to rally more and force his opponent into a mistake instead of going for the winner like he used to.
Next year he'll be back to his best.
He's still the best on Grass anyway. He may have lost in the final of Wimbledon but thats 1 match, for Nadal to prove he is better he will have to beat him again.

Murray 2 sets up on world number 1 Nadal in semi final.

Fantastic win for Andy Murray last night. Tbh, when he went a break down in the 4th set I thought Nadal was going to complete the comeback and win the match. Murray hit some incredible shots and I fancy his chances against Federer in the final. It's astonishing to think he's only 21 and has reached his 1st Grand Slam final. This kid could go on to do great things.

WOW, is all i can say i was flicking back and forth from the match and then watched from about 11 onwards and it was quality tennis, Murray and Nadal both playing great stuff. I very rarely watch the tennis unless it's Wimbledon, but i couldn't help but be gripped by this match.
What time is the game tonight 10 or something isn't it ? Shame i have school tomorrow I'll probably watch the first hour or so then go to bed. I think Federer will win but no point of writing Murray off he's playing THAT well.
