I dont know about you but I find the razz and all that surrounds the American Presidential Elections totally confusing to say the least.

God knows how much they spend on this, but someone, every 4 years, makes enough out of this parade to retire 10 times over.

It makes our UK elections seem like a Parents Evening at the Local Primary School (pun intended!).

If dear old smiling Hilary gets in, does than mean Monica Lewinksi will not be offered a job!!!

If its Obama bin Laden? Will all muslims be taking a one way ticket out? Or in?

If its McCain - will the chips get burnt on the run in?

I am being serious...mostly, if i had to choose between the three i would vote obama. Hilary i do not like, used alot of cheap tactics in the race imo. That better?

I think they all use pathetic tactics, hence the thread on the stupidity of it all

I was all for Hilary Clinton to be the FIRST American Woman President - Girl Power ... :p

But after seeing her resort to some very low tricks ...

I am not too keen for her to win now !!!

Then again - after seeing all the lies and deception - she is more than qualified to be USA leader ... ;)

Hiilary is the same as obama!

Do some research on Ron Paul who has never voted himself a payrise,
never voted to raise taxes, voted against the war in Iraq and has stayed
consistent in his stance on all subjects ever since he became a senator.

He also wants to reduce the size of the government!

He's the best candidate by a country mile and that's why the media
won't even put him on air.

More about him later when I have some spare time ;)

i agree that are similarities between obama and hilary but to me hilary still comes across as alot worse. Whoever gets nominated to lead the country will not change much anyway because its now in a situation where it cannot but atleast obama is young, fresh and intelligent. People say he speaks well sarcastically as the only reason to vote him but the guy went to harvard and was the head of a debate team or something. I cannot remember fully but the guy is definately intelligent and has some personality about him atleast. Others say he has no experience but many with experience have done disgraceful things for america within politics so maybe someone fresh, young and different can help america out a little and clean up its image abit.

I agree Ronpaul was a good candidate for a republican...(he is republican right?)...but did he not drop out or something? He was becoming a minor cult figure and was starting to gather abit of a following but if he gave up it does not look good on the guy imo.

I dunno, i'll have to check up a little more on ron paul but i've heard of him and stuff but not an expert on the guy.

The reason you know little about him is because the media will not give him
any air time. In one state where he won the election they still didn't put him
on air and they told a blatant lie and said somebody else won!

He is still very much running for the presidency so I'm not too sure where you
got your information. If you clicked the link I left in my last posts there's dates
when he is touring the country and speaking at rallies etc.

Some more info on him:

Congressman Paul’s consistent voting record prompted one of his congressional
colleagues to say, “Ron Paul personifies the Founding Fathers’ ideal of the
citizen-statesman. He makes it clear that his principles will never be compromised,
and they never are.” Another colleague observed, “There are few people in public
life who, through thick and thin, rain or shine, stick to their principles. Ron Paul is
one of those few.”

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

wow. he seems like a good chap. if only he gets more air time. but at the moment, i would go for obama. hillary just seem too weak, her dirty tricks are way more lowly than obama's.

My political beliefs mean I will always favour the Democrat candidate.

Out of Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama I would prefer Obama to get in. Not only would having a black President be a very positive step for America but I think he is the better candidate.

His policies of ending the Iraq war and introducing free health care will win a lot of votes in America but his economic policies are more important to me. With the World seemingly headed towards a global recession I like his idea of offering tax breaks to workers and homeowners and regaining this money by taxing large corporations. This imo should increase bottom line spending and stabilise the economy - hopefully the rest of the World will follow suit.

Clinton has instead focussed on getting the unemployed back to work and offering aid to people taking educational training courses. The end result, if successful, would be the same i.e. more people employed means more money being spent but if the economy is suffering where will these jobs come from? Also, this seems to be a more long-term plan whereas Obama's would lead to quicker results.

Sorry, Ron Paul would make a terrible president. He is too honest!!!

America is sick of the Republicans so I believe Obama will get the vote.

If the Republicans don't rig the election 'this year' and blacks are allowed to vote, it is Obama's presidency.

Fair play to him. He is ideal in my opinion. He reminds me of JFK and dare I say it Dr. King himself :)

*Politics has to an extent ruined Hilary in my opinion, she appears spiteful and I don't think she is right. I just wouldn't trust her*

here is hagglers view if obama wins he will be assasinated within a year

if hilary wins she will become hugely unpopular as democrat policies will hasten a recession in the us

if mccain wins he will kickstart us economy in same way reagan did .
