Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has asked chief executive Rick Parry to resign
his role at the club, Telegraph Sport understands.

Hicks has been battling to keep control of the club in the face of massive
opposition from fans and a sustained takeover bid from Dubai International
Capital, who have agreed a deal in principle to buy out his partner George Gillett.

Gillett is happy to sell his share in the club, but has fallen out with Hicks and
would prefer to sell to DIC. Hicks, meanwhile, has been trying to raise capital
to by his partner out and retain full contol.

Parry has fallen out with Hicks who has been involved in negotiations for both
sides and last month called for for a quick resolution to a damaging public spat
between the Americans.

"My plea is that something happens this week," Parry said at the time.

"There is a need for a degree of urgency but it is urgent to get it right, not
urgent to come up with the wrong solution. To move onwards and upwards
we need a resolution but I don't think this is going to have a direct bearing on
the players, that is pretty unlikely.

"It is certainly not conducive to long-term planning and managing the club.
Over time, if we fail to deliver and fail to perform, that is when star players
become dissatisfied but that is not an immediate fear from where I sit."

Cheek of that cretin Hicks.

Parry is a life long fan and serving member of Liverpool FC who worked his way up through the ranks to where he is now.

Disgraceful antics afoot at Anfailed.

Let it continue ;)

It's a farce !!!

Simple as that ...

I do recall The Dippers singing ...

"USA, USA, USA....." at United fans when The Glazers got here ...

Well now they too have owners from the USA ...

But I'm sure they would swap in an instant, LMAO ... :D

I know there are those who realy do have a problem with The Glazers - but I am
stuck in the middle still.

We have hardly heard from The Glazers.

They tend to leave Fergie to get on with his job.

We have won trophies - which is what it is all about.

We have signed many new and outstanding players.

Sure the ticket prices have gone up ...

But this just seems to have brought United 'in line' with the rest of the Premier
League. In fact in a league table of ticket prices - United are 10th !! Reading,
yes Reading, lol......are 4th. It is cheaper to go to the most magnificent stadium
in the country - and watch the world's biggest club for less than a day out at a
Reading game !!! Now that's a bargain surely ... ;)

Yes ... I feel sure The Dippers would swap owners right now - but it looks like
they will now be owned by Dubai International Capital or 'DIC' for short ...

The Scousers are to become a bunch of DICs ...

Some things just never change do they ?

Hicks should take notice of what the Glazers & Randy Lerner are doing, letting their executive and manager get on with their jobs without constantly sticking their noses in.

If only it was affecting their players more.

I feel the same. While I am not a Glazer fan, I am glad we don't have the same circus happening in our camp to destabalize the players. Put yourself in the mind of a player. Am I going to give really 100% or even 110% EVERY time I'm on the pitch, when I'm not sure, if the owners are going to b ehere in a few week or the coach and I are going to be here? The answer is No.

Maybe the player would raise his game for the big matches, but not the match against the mid-table clubs.

Here is another article from football365 about how difficult it has been for Rick Parry working under the ownership of Hicks

PARRY REVEALS `NIGHTMARE`

Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has described working under the co-ownership of Tom Hicks as a "nightmare" and said he has feared the sack for months.

Parry believes his role in ensuring that most of the refinanced loans taken out for the purchase of the club by Hicks and George Gillett were secured against the Americans' holding company and not the club caused the breakdown in their relationship.

"David (former chairman David Moores) and I thought we would be out on our ears in December," Parry told the Independent.

"We thought they might fire us. They didn't, to be fair, though what we did has not been forgotten.

"It's been a nightmare throughout, a dreadful year."

Hicks wrote to Parry this week to demand his resignation, but Gillett has underlined his support for the chief executive.

"Rick Parry retains our full support," Gillett said. "Any decision to remove him would need the approval of the full Liverpool board which, it should be remembered, consists of six people - myself, Foster (Gillett's son), David Moores, Rick himself, Tom Hicks and Tom junior.

"We have not seen the document in question and we were not party to it. We are not able to comment on the detail because we have not seen it.

"But I would reiterate that Rick retains our full support."

Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has explained his decision to ask the club's chief executive Rick Parry to resign, describing him as arrogant and decrying his "inability to manage an organisation".

Hicks wrote to Parry asking him to tender his resignation in yet another tumultuous week at Anfield - overshadowing the team's stunning Champions League defeat of Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Parry, who was instrumental in bringing Hicks and George Gillett to the club, has vowed to continue his work at the club.

But Hicks insists his position is untenable, characterising his tenure as a decade of underachievement.

Hicks told the Mail on Sunday: "Rick Parry has been Liverpool's CEO for 10 years and we haven't won a league championship under his leadership. Our commercial revenues have not kept up with other top clubs during that time, which has made it very difficult to compete for the Premier League.

"After watching him operate, I came to the conclusion it was time to ask him to resign, due to his inability to manage an organisation, his seemingly arrogant attitude to our supporters and his lack of communication with Rafa (Benitez)."

Hicks added that he had made his mind up to call for Parry's head some time ago and, despite his insistence on remaining at the club, wants a replacement at the helm as early as next month.

"I reached my decision a few weeks ago but waited until after the games against Everton and Arsenal. It is important to try to have a new CEO in place by May so we can begin working with Rafa on player transfers," added Hicks.

Parry has fiercely defended his work on Merseyside, saying: "I stand by my track record in English football and as chief executive of Liverpool Football Club. It would be inappropriate for me to comment in detail on these allegations - that should be a matter for the Liverpool board. In fact, I would welcome an opportunity to discuss these matters with our co-owners and board colleagues. This continuous airing of issues in the media is clearly not helpful at this crucial stage of our season."
