Manchester United v Arsenal - Head to head

Manchester United and Arsenal have fought ferociously to be top dogs in English
football over the past decade.

Ahead of their vital Barclays Premier League clash tomorrow, we look at how the
two clubs measure up:

MANAGERS

This contest sees the two most successful managers in Premier League history
renew their battle of wits and mind games. Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed nine
Premier League titles, five FA Cups and two League Cups, in addition to a
Champions League crown and Cup Winners' Cup victory. The most decorated
manager in English football history is favourite to claim his 10th league crown this
term and is still on track for a second European Cup.

Arsene Wenger has established Arsenal as one of Europe's leading clubs since his
arrival in north London in September 1996. He is the Gunners' longest serving
manager of all time and their most successful, having won three Premier League
crowns and four FA Cups.

SQUAD

Ferguson's men undoubtedly have the edge in terms of experience. The likes of
Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand will hope to use their wise old heads to lead the
home side to victory. Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo are more
than a match for Wenger's youngsters.

Arsenal's recruitment policy relies heavily on seeking out and developing raw,
young talent. But Wenger has proved to be the best in the business at doing
this. As a result, the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and Cesc Fabregas have risen
to prominence in a highly entertaining side.

FORM

United are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League matches but they will be
looking to bounce back from last Sunday's disappointing 2-2 draw at
Middlesbrough quickly. Ferguson's men are three points clear at the top of the
Premier League and six ahead of the third-placed Gunners.

Arsenal are bidding to make up some serious ground at the top if they are to
keep their title hopes alive. The Gunners are in the midst of a patchy run of form
and have taken just eight points from their last seven league outings. They were
held 1-1 by Liverpool last Saturday and failure to beat United will almost certainly
prove the decisive blow to their Premier League title hopes.
