Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs
set for Sunderland move?
Ryan Giggs could be offered the chance
of a move to Sunderland to play at the
Stadium Of Light.
The 34-year-old Welshman has just one
year left on his current Old Trafford
contract but his first-team chances are
set to be even harder to achieve next
season.
Roy Keane will offer his former team
mate a three-year deal as he looks to
take Sunderland to the next level in the
Premier League.

i dont think ryan will go anywhere until he has broken sir bobbys record for appearances , which will be early next season i think.
i definately think time is up for ryan , he is the model proffesional , and a one club man which is hard to find these days and will go down as one of our greatest ever players.
but sentiment should not rule the head , when its time to go its time to go.

I agree with stretty..he will remain at the club till he breaks the apps record and then have a fairytale ending and end his career on a high retiring with Man United!!

With less than 10 games to break Sir Bobby Charlton's record, it would be most insane and illogical for Giggs to leave now.
Besides, he has also said he appreciated what Fergie has been doing for him to prolong his career so for him to leave for more first-team action does not make much sense.
And afterall, in the modern football era which money talks, it is highly unlikely any player would even come close to that record, which simply means that when Giggs does break the record, he knows it could be for eternity!!
But for some personal reason(s) or whatsoever he does choose to leave, I am sure he will have our full blessings and heart-felt gratitude.

He is just to class for them

lmao where did you come from, how did a sunderland fan become so recognized on a united forum. anyways aslong as he breaks the record i give giggs the blessing to do what he wants with the remainder of his career.
and if he does go anywhere i would prefer sunderland. cause it would be legend to see him under roy. i like what keano is doing with sunderland atm, its a good movement. exciting time to be at the stadium of light

LMAO. He is only 14 so we still 'keep' him, believing he will grow out of the Sunderland thing....:D
P.S. And he conducts lessons on making signatures etc for United fans. Lol.

Thats a possiblilty....
some players dont care about records and stats......
I dont believe this story for a second though. I can see him staying
1 more year and then maybe staying on the coaching staff.
He will want to win his 11th Prem next season to match his shirt number,
and by then he will get Bobby's record.
He may go to Sunderland then, its a possibility if he wants to carry on playing.

giggsy is fan favourate and the most used player he is staying Stop living in the past. He is past it and has been for a while. There is no room for sentimentality here.
Example: Fergie beats Barcelona and gets through to the final. He plays Scholes & Giggs for "sentimental" reasons and they play crap. We lose.
Giggs is most used player because he has been there the longest. He WAS great but no longer is that same player. Take off your rose tinted glasses and look at him in the cold light of day.
His runs are seldom; his passing is diabolical, his dribbling is now almost none existent, he loses the ball way to easily and, when he does, he just walks away.
He simply does not have the legs anymore for the high speed premiership. I recall Giggs from the start, when you were not even born - he WAS fast, he COULD dribble - but NO MORE!

i wouldnt go as far as to say he is useless as you virtually have...but he isnt half the player he used to be

But of course, we cannot be so blunt about it here. Sensitive and emotional issue.

Look. It's a load of rubbish.

Really? Get real.

He is NOT useless but is not the same anymore, time for United not to assume he is a first choicer any more. He's way past sell by date.

I wrote it actually I didn't copy it, for your information.
Not that it has anything to do with you anyway where it is from.
Rubbish ?
Why is it rubbish ?
Do I believe the media don't lie ?
Lie about what ?
The problem here is easily identified.
It's your inability to read something, properly, and then understand and inwardly
digest it.
For a start it ASKS people if they believe Ryan Giggs is set for a Sunderland
move - it certainly doesn't say he IS moving. Hence the question mark at the end
of the sentence ...
It also says "Ryan Giggs COULD be offered......."
Not that he WILL be offered ......."
The only other point of contention is...
Roy Keane WILL offer him a 3 year contract.
Neither you or I know 100% fact he wont do we ?
He could call and say "Ryan do you want a 3 year contract ?"
There we are - it's been offered.
There is not one fact here that can be argued about or called rubbish because
there is nothing said in the article that is untrue.
Feel free to write a few yourself. We all look forward to it ... ;)
I added the article below for reference as you read my post.

Firstly Giggsy will never leave even if given permission to leave United.
Secondly, why would we want to sell Giggsy? He may not be at his peak anymore but his experience in top flight football is valuable for winning league titles and cup competitions. Giggsy has been at United for a very long time and has, along with Scholesy, been challenging for the title for many years. Why do you think Arsenal crumbled at a time like this? Yes, you could say that they had injuries and a small squad, but the fact is they're young and little experience in challenging for the title like Giggsy and Scholesy. They'll deliver when it counts the most.

Probably not the right place to say this but Giggs has actually put in some very solid performances this season and is becoming a bit of a scapegoat. In the last 2 months he has been off-form but he has done alright by and large!

Giggsy should stay en break the record ,but if he wants to leave!!!!!!!!!!!then he should not be tied up.he should be respected for the greatness he has brought.he is a role model of a true profesional player.Another season will be okay with me........................

He mouthed off about all things United, really. Especially the team selection; Fergie won't stand for that!

I believe as club captain he has a right, and a responsibility, to get the team in order, and to say what he thinks.
However, to say it in public was rather out of order.

erm, didnt think you would ask me back lol.
In my eyes the man can do no wrong........but
It was at a time when things werent at their best on the pitch....
We know he would have been telling them this in training every day anyway
but this was Keane getting 'things sorted'.....
Something needed to be done and said and thats what he did.
He holds no punches and is a very honest man. He always had the 'manager'
in him. As a fan, i was glad he said it, cos he was right at the time....
Things have certainly improved on the pitch since then....
so maybe he made the ultimate sacrifice(his job at OT) for the good of the team?
Generally when players says things about their team mates outside the dressing
room, they should be hung, drawn and quartered but when Keane said it......
I thought Good on him, he did the right thing. You need big balls to do what he did.
bit of a long winded response.....maybe its cos Im defending the indefencible?
or maybe cos it still hurts that he left the way he did?

Fergie has made some strange decisions in the past , and you can never ever try and understand how he is thinking.
But by and large he gets most of it right as his record proves, he was right to get rid of keano because he overstepped the mark , and it doesnt matter who you are when you do that theres only one way to go even if you are club captain

With the amount of ex-United players at Sunderland, it wouldn't suprise me if Keano tried to swoop for Giggsy as well.
To me though Giggs seems the type of player who will only ever play for one club, United. There was talk a few years back of him going to Newcastle, but nothing ever surfaced from that.
Without question, Giggsy will play on at United until he has the appearances record, and who can really blame him. In all honesty, I can see Giggs having one or two more seasons at United and then call it a day.
