Sweden didnt deserve a better result. Switzerland won fair and square. We have to move up a few levels if we wants to play about the medals. Lucky for us we get a new goalie for todays game. :)

Yes they are out of the medal race. And whats really surprising they have to fight to stay in Group A. They havent got their top players willing to play so I dont think the Slovaks where having too high hopes about medals but this...this is something they didnt expect.
I heard that 17 Slovak players excuse themselves..they have some inner problems.

Before the tournament 19 players said no thanks to play for us. Some injured some just were not motivated. Since then 2-3 more have turned down the offer.
Thats why it was good to get Lundqvist and a tough defender as Doug Murray.:)

If you lose 2:3 to Russians, it doesn't mean you are weak. And like spellbound told us: "Before the tournament 19 players said no thanks to play for us."
But they played really well against Russia - I saw 2 thirds of the game - amazing hockey. But Swedes are short of defenders because of their urge to send as many opponents as they are capable of to the hospital.

Yeah for a change we're the thugs. :D
We played for about 50 minutes with only 4 defenders and to give a breather for the defenders or when one defendsman was serving a penalty we had to use a forward to do a shift defending.
The two game misconducts against Switzerland was just stupid. One of the two we got last night was just....wrong. Murray should have got 2 minutes for interference and not the verdict the ref's are giving our coach - checking from behind and to the head. If you see all the replays you can see how he hit with his shoulder on Morozovs shoulder so it was to his side. Strålman and Kovalchuk was just "male bonding" or as hockey players call it, standing up for your team mates.:D
Since the Czechs were winning we could rest our team captain Kenny Jönsson as well so we were already one defender short before the game.
Lawbreaker...next stop on thug-tour is the Czechs...probably without Murray but Niclas Wallin is ready to play. ;)

Unfortunatly I think you're right about Canada. I dont think our defence is strong enough to stop 4 hungry Canadian lines. On a lucky day we'll beat them but I have no hopes it'll be on friday evening.
The other semi: Finland have a quite good team but with Nabokov Russia have a goalie to win the tournament, at least to win the semi. Still, the Russian defenders are far from the best in the tournament. When Russia met Sweden we could put a pressure on the defenders and when they got all stressed up they were throwing the pucks around. So if the aggressive Finns can forcheck them early they are very vulnerable. The Russian offense is probably better then home team Canada's with pretty much all four lines able to play powerplays.
Still, I think Canada will defend their title and win the first World Championship ever in Canada. They got a better team with all kinds of role players.

Nash plays for Blue Jackets which has been one of the poor teams and he's one of their key players they build around. He's scores a lot of goals in WC too every time he's playing. Both teams have really fast players and I am expecting entertaining hockey. But if Finnish players push Russian defenders really hard, they'll have a chance to win this match. Although I prefer Russians to proceed to the final, because they would have better chances of winning the tournament against Canada/Sweden..
