FC United are currently 4th in the Unibond 1st Div North. 7 points behind Bradford Park Avenue who are on 90 points.

At last a thread on FC United.....
Ok can someone tell me what the story is with getting promoted out of this
league? Top 2?? or are there playoffs? Let me know and thanks in advance.

think its top 2 mate
basically get promoted from unitedbond north this season
they will be in unibond prem, then to conference north, then conference then football league.
their followers are mainly man united fans who dont go due to OT due to principle or money issues
they have a massive following and i for one will be going alot more this season

Doing better than my local team. Lancaster City, after getting relegated last season, are in 11th.
They drew 2-2 against FCUM last month but lost 5-2 to them this month.
Jazz - I think it's top team qualify and 2nd-5th get into the playoffs.

Apparently some people don't want them to be promoted,
as this would mean having to take on a major sponsor,
something which FC is against fundamentally.
I guess it always had to happen at one point if the club
was to progress so it's a bit of a catch 22 situation.

Whether they go up, or just lose out, they have done fantastic to get as far as they have, in such a short time.

So which one is it?
and are there many games left this season?
Nicely in 4th now so there is a chance of promotion then......
Is their form good? cos I remember they were in 6th/7th few months back...

Due to the fact they were placed right next to

Dont want this to open a can of worms but I couldnt support another club no matter how unhappy I was with the club's setup.
We as fans are not forced into going and if was too expensive, I would just not go.
I see FC United as potential rivals along with City, Oldham and all the other locals.
We had a similar discussion in the pub once. If United went bust tomorrow and the club ceased to exist, who would you support. My answer was NO-ONE.
United and only United for me!!!!
P.S - This aint a message of support for glazers or the fact that they seem to rip fans off willingly to pay their huge debts back.

Fair play to you mate for voicing your opinions and i
understand exactly what you are saying and why.
I've read your other posts with interest and you
talk a lot of sense.
I'll try to adress your points the best i can.
I think you'll find that almost all football supporters support another club.
From local non league teams to other European teams.
We had a thread on here asking members what other teams they support
and every single poster said at least one other.
Cant afford it so you wouldnt go ? Thats one of the
main reasons why FCUM was formed. Affordable football
for anyone priced out or disillusioned with all that is wrong
in the game today. Football where you can afford to take
your kids, drink, stand, sing, and not have to take out a bank
loan to go to one game.
Rivals to United ? NEVER, alternative..yes, You'll find lots
of the hard core long standing reds at FCUM are the ones
at every away game. FC United will never be a rival to United
nor do FCUM fans want it to be. 90% of FCUM fans are die hard
reds, but just don't go to home games at OT.
No United, support no-one ?? Could never do that mate.
No way am i going to be shopping at the Trafford Centre
at 3pm on a Saturday. Need my footy fix two or three times a week.
Only one Manchester United.
But two Uniteds and the soul is one.

Fair play for your comment but I, for one, have said nothing about "supporting FC United" but "going to watch them."
FC United is made of fans, like you, like me - for whatever reason, and the unavailability of tickets, to form their own highly successful team and good luck to them too.
When I lived on Merseyside, I would watch Tranmere every home game, does not mean I support them!!

totally agree with you on the principle of it all. But shouldnt be a choice us fans should have to make.
If the United away fans are not ST holders then how do they get hold of the tickets when are sold to ST members first. Just a thought.
I hope government will intervene soon with the whole fiasco of individuals taking over clubs with huge debt burdens. Clubs should be a 50/50 split of commercial shares and "fans"shares with ticket prices regulated.

Fair play to FC United. They won the UniBond Presidents Cup Final
2-0 they won against Radcliffe and it must be great for them and their
fans to get some more silverware.
Chris Baguley got the first after 84 mins, a nice diving header.
Didnt hear who got the 2nd as the commentators were going mad.
Nice bit at the end by the commentator' there are fans on the pitch,
they think its all over, it is now' quality.

Second half was going to be long when they put one away early on.
Even more physical now, our players gave as good as they got. Simon Carden not shirking his role in midfield.
