Working, School, University, College, Nothing?
How do you spend your days in the above?
Me, I went back into the Security business 5 months ago after spending 2 years setting up and running a friends business online shopping site. I work at a major confectionery manufacturer in the Midlands on a temp contract bringing in the vehicles, freight etc. When I leave this I hope to be going onto perm nights driving around a lot of the area, including South Wales on Security business.

Self employed, building and maintainence.
Qualified bricky, sparks and scaffolder,
and good all rounder.
Sub contracted to council, mainly covering
electrical work and emergency call outs to
care homes for the elderly.
Work mostly nights. Love it.
A few money making side-lines that
require very little work.
Zuco, tax man....keep off ! :p ;)

Lol. Wanted to do a similar thread after being inspired by some candid sharings in K4T's what-job thread, although some job (singular, not plural) suggested naughtily should not be taken too seriously, K4T. Just in case... :D Seriously, thought it may help to promote a family concept in the forum.
I am a stockbroker by profession since 2000, and do my own trading/investments too. Working towards being a private investor.

I'm the Sales Manager for a company selling EPOS equipment and consultancy mainly into the retail and hospitality industry (so stuff like touch screen tills, receipt printers, bar code scanners etc). We also do a bit of sales and marketing as well for various EPOS manufacturers/software vendors, companies in the travel industry and also one company that sells temperature monitoring systems into hospitals and food manufacturers.
I've been doing this for a couple of years now. Ever since I graduated from uni I've worked in sales jobs. I've sold car insurance, ERP consultancy, supply chain consultancy, CRM systems and a Royal Mail online address change notification service.
I guess I'm a bit of a Del Boy really. I'll sell a bit of this and a bit of that and by this time next year...;)

I work in a special needs school. There are 3 kids (2 10 yr olds and a 6 yr old) in my class.
They have severe learning difficulties but are fully mobile, very active,
very hyper and love to mess for the entire day  :p .
They are non-verbal so we use other forms of communication such as pictures
(Pecs) or sign for example. I get to do fun stuff like go to parks, play football,
paint, jump about on the bouncy castles, teach them how to swim and generally
have a laugh with them.
Was only supposed to do that for a week but 2 years later Im still there and
still loving my job. It can be very draining at times but the long holidays certainly
make up for it.:)
Id recommend this type of work to anyone, very rewarding and lots of fun and it
sure beats sitting at a desk all day ;)

I'm a student on Ireland, preparing for an exam called, the Juniour Cert, and I'll sit
that in June.
Then I'm "off" for a year and I've got 2 jobs lined up so far for the coming
summer.
Hope to go on to do either sports journalism or architecture, or even both maybe.
Always wanted to be a guard until my bro's mate (who was one) was in a serious
accident while on night duty 3 years ago.
When I'm 22, my bro will be 29 and we plan to go, and live in Manchester for a
year, buy two season tickets and go to most of, if not all the United games.
Been saving for quite a while now, and the only problem we see at the moment
is the whole property issue! :o..... Hopefully our plans will take shape over the
next few years.....
So thats me really! :D:D

i work at manchester airport as a ramp agent and baggage handler. and yes i am the one that damages your suitcase but theres a perfectly good reason :D. i mainly work underneath the aircraft when on stand before and after flights, like pulling steps on and securing the wheels to make sure it doesn't roll forward and pierce a nice hole in terminal 1 :D
i turned my back on full education at the end of college. i decided enuf was enuf for me. and I'm going to prove to my dad that i can make it successful without spending years in education (uni for example).
when i'm 21 i plan to move into logistics and eventyally haul fuel and other hazardous stuff around the country. seeing as it comes with a 43,000 a year wage packet :).
i'm also an affiliate marketer in my spare time to bring in that extra income :D

I've done a whole pile of jobs, but most recently I was a musician for 2 1/2 years before my present job in which I lead a team of customer support reps in an IT firm.
It's quite eye-opening what you can learn at an MNC in terms of ops and people-management. Hopefully it will come in handy when I try my hand at operating my own motels in New Zealand one day, which is my long-term goal.

I'm not sure, but I would say in the real world, we wouldn't consider dialects to be actual languages.
In the call centre I work at we get a lot of applications from people who claim to speak 4 or 5 languages, but when we screen their proficiency it is often very laughable what people consider to be fluent.
I speak English and German fluently and took French for 7 years, but because I haven't practiced at all, I can now only understand French and only when it is spoken slowly. I would therefore never say that I speak French, even though I could painfully string a few broken sentences together, if I was held at gunpoint. :)
Anyway, we actually have applicants claiming to be fluent French speakers and they usual\lly are even worse than me! Being able to order at a restaurant and ask for directions doesn't mean a person can speak a language. Not to me anyway....
