In perhaps the most hypocritical statement of the season,
Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has branded Manchester
United a one man team.

"Cristiano is at another level. He is so good he puts United
on his shoulders and carries them in every game. He's above
all other players in the world. He's a complete player.

"Barcelona will have to cover him because he can give United
a great chance to qualify. If he feels comfortable and takes the
game to the opposition, things will be complicated for Barca."

Indeed Ronaldo has been amazing this season and scored
a fantastic number of goals, but Rooney and Tevez have
chipped in and have scored 17 each.

Without Torres' goals, Liverpool have scored 38 league goals
so far.

Without Ronaldo's goals, United have scored 44 goals so far.

The evidence clearly shows Liverpool are more reliant on him
than United are on Ronaldo.

He didn't really say that United are a one man team did he? It sounded more like he was just the latest in a long list of people to praise C Ronaldo.

If you read his comments carefully, you'll notice he said no such thing.

Stop reading headlines only.

This implies Ronaldo wins every game for us.

I didn't just read the headline, I wrote it :p

That doesn't imply that, he's just saying he's the focal point of our attack.

Which he undoubtedly is.

Had he said we're rubbish without Ronaldo that would mean we'd be a one man team.

Stop being a dramaqueen.

Of course, "every game" simply means whenever Ronaldo plays. You may want to reconsider, UnitedRed?

I'm reconsidering nothing, it's the same principle.

Ronaldo whenever he plays is the focal point of our attack. Anyone denying that is deluded. Again, had he said we aren't the same without him that would mean he claims we're a one man team.

Stop getting your panties in a twist just because a Liverpool player said this.

Christ.

While I, don't know about you, can accept difference in opinions,

1. Don't put it across as if only your interpretation is right; this is a forum for crying out loud.

2. Nobody has been offensive in this thread so far; don't need to go round bashing people up.

3. The last 2 paragraphs are absolutely unnecessary remarks; save it for yourself, mate.

zuco - you've missed one of the key quotes...

"But if they keep the ball away from him Barca will get to the Champions League Final. United suffer against teams who keep possession of the football."

That's the bit that implies we're a one man team i.e. keep Ronaldo quiet and you're through. He still never said the words 'United are a one man team' though.

Slow down friends, opinion is what its all about. Everyone can read something into anything that is or is not there. Debate people, not fight.

Abo, removed yet another of your completely pointless posts, cut it out!

One of the most ridiculous things ive heard! Its the other way around, without his 22 odd goals, Liverpool would be struggling!

Another hypocrite like Gerrard! lol Yeah everyone keeps on saying we are nothing without Ronaldo but I beg to differ. We can win games without him. Who we can't really live without imo is Rooney. Each EPL game we lost this season was without Rooney and yes Ronaldo did play and score in most like the West Ham loss 2-1. Ronaldo is the worlds best player at the moment but we do have sufficient cover for him in Nani and Park and the 4-0 win over Arsenal this season proves my point.

rooney is the true focal point of our attack, not ronaldo.
i have been saying this for some time, ronaldo provides something special, something extra to the team, while rooney is what the team is all about, the team is built around rooney, he smoothens utd's attacking play.
