None.

Exactly...my reaction's identical to yours when I first noticed the subject of the thread! FFS, who would adore a flop from the team which you support? Nonetheless, my heart-felt sympathy goes to a certain Diego Forlan. In fact, he's a quality player. He just couldn't adapt to the English culture of fast, physical football. But look where's he now. At both Villareal & Atletico Madrid in the La Liga, where he notched up a total of 54 goals in 106 club appearances with the former; albeit winning the European Golden Boot in his very first season, he played an instrumental part to the Yellow Submarine's charge to the semi-finals of the Uefa Champions League too. Currently, he already has 14 goals in 29 games for Atletico Madrid this campaign. Class player...shouldn't even hve come to United in the very first place.

there have been many good players who haven't made the grade at Old Trafford. The most technically gifted was probably Veron, a real class player, Forlan, Cruyff, Kleberson... William Prunier  ... all good players in their own right but just have not made it at United.

You hate me? I'm a freak? I'm an idiot?

I'll decide what to do with you later, in the meantime an apology would be a good place for you to start.

Actually he's played 86 games and scored only 28 goals.

28 goals in four years at the club would count as a flop in my book.

I know he's had injuries but still...

I wouldnt say he's a flop, but I see what u mean. His injury list compared to his number of games, maybe he's a flop after all. Does anyone have the number of games, minutes played, goals scored and weeks at the physio?

Cruyff wasnt a flop he played great football
players like veron and kleberson didnt adapt the english game
but players like TAIBIE ??? FLOP

He wasn't talking about daddy Cruyff, he was talking about Jordi Cruyff and, if he ever layed great football it wasn't at Old Trafford that's for sure!

I'd love to do a worst goal keepers list, because a lot of them feature in my top of the flops.

I know this post was about flops we still love, but I honestly can’t think of any, so here goes my worst 10 Fergie transfers

10. William Prunier - Played a total of two games and was utter rubbish, but you have to admire him, because he can still say he player for Manchester United. "Played" being a gross over-statement

9. Mark Bosnich - goalkeeping coach Tony Coton advised him to make himself bigger in one on one situations and Mark duly obliged by eating all the pies

8. Farbien Barthez – Made Tim Howard look really good.

7. Jordi Cruyff - his horrible hair was only surpassed by his horrible ball control and passing. Made Darren Fletcher look good. (forgive me Crooney)

6. David Bellion – Fergie announced that he was fast as a greyhound and had the qualities to make him the next Henry …… he probably had a few chuckles about that himself. Bellion made the next guy look good

5. Diego Forlan – how much could you expect from a guy who can’t put on a jersey? …. A lot apparently. Reports at the time claimed Fergie hijacked Forlan at Heathrow on his way to Middlesbrough, where new manager Steve McClaren was waiting to sign him, having scouted him for former boss Alex. Fergie was having none of it and thought he made the samba signing of the summer. Diego scored his first goal for Man Utd 8 months later. I must admit though that he is a legend for scoring against Liverpool AND chelski

4. Jesper Blomqvist – Talented but more fragile than Louis Saha. Rumours had it that Fergie had him escorted to the pitch for the Champions League final in 99 to make sure that he wouldn’t get injured along the way. ….. OK I made that up, but it gives you an idea how injury-prone this guy was. Apparently, Umbro had to make an extra light jersey for him, because the standard one would become too heavy after sweating in it and the extra weight caused his knees to buckle under the load. …… OK I made that up too.

3. Kleberson – Peter Kenyon managed to botch the Roanldinho transfer that was almost done and duster and our first Brazilian signing turned out to be Kleberson. Fergie said at the time that he would probably turn out to be a better signing than Ronaldinho. *shudder* The best thing that happened that summer was the signing of a certain Cristiano Ronaldo, who was unveiled together with Kleberson.

2. Juan Sebastian Veron - £29million of turtle-speed terror. Generally seemed surprised to find himself on a football pitch and never quite figured out why David and Ryan were always running so fast.

1. Massimo Taibi - at £4.4million pounds probably the worst transfer for a goal keeper in top flight football anywhere on the planet. He couldn't catch a cold in winter!

I don't know if its just me or what but I do not consider Barthez a flop lol To me he was a crazy keeper who did pull out some nifty saves (Hamman at Anfield 30 yard rocket! Kept us in the game and we won 2-1) and was also a champion as he won the World Cup 98 Euro 2000 and EPL titles with us. He is known for saving the impossible but can't save the possible but overall imo he was a good keeper and signing.

My Favourite flops have to be:
Kleberson (Amazing world cup expecailly in the final vs Germany!)

Forlan (Killed Liverpoo lol and I just loved watching him and his last hairstyle before he left lol)

Veron (He was world class - till he met the EPL but then again was class in the CL)

Djemba-Djemba (Loved the name lol Watched him play for Camaroon and always did well and there was this friendly match in the USA pre season tour vs Bayarn Munich which we lost to penalties but we played our reserves against their first team and Djemba-Djemba had Ballack in his pocket and he impressed me loads in that game - then again so did Mcshane, Bardsley and Richardson!)

My favourite flop would have to be Forlan. Even though he wasn't getting the goals most of the time he always gave 110% and ran his socks off. The fans responded to this and in the end people began to like and appreciate him.

My least favourites would probably have to be Bellion and Taibi. Bellion never looked a United player and as for Taibi, this video just about summed him up.

Suprised nobody mentioned Ralphie Milne yet. what was it ? 3 goals in 3 years ?
cant remember exactly how many games.

David Bellion and Djemba-Djemba ( so bad they named him twice lol ) have got to be at the top of the list as well.

yes kleberson was pants but personally i think veron was sold to early, i think the season he was sold he had an amazing preseason and looked the business, and as for forlan, i dont think he was given a decent run int he side, andy cole missed just as many sitters as him! but he was constantly in the team! look at forlans record in spain! its impressive
