Sir Alex Ferguson is hopeful that Wayne Rooney won't miss Manchester United's
Champions League semi-final first leg with Barcelona after he hobbled out of his
side's 1-1 draw with Blackburn on Saturday.
Rooney appeared to suffer a hip injury in the second half, and was in some
discomfort before finally being taken off late in the game.
There were obvious fears that Rooney would miss out on the first leg of the
Champions League clash with Barca, but Ferguson remained optimistic.
"Wayne got a knock on the hip but I'm sure it won't keep him out of Wednesday
night's match," said Ferguson.
"Sometimes when you get a kick on the bone it can be very sore at the time but
I expect he'll recover."
