OMG it looks amazing. It is one of the main reasons im considering buying a ps3 or 360. if any one finds any new info on it please post it.

In my opinion, Vice City is still the best GTA game but I have high hopes for this new one.

Supposedly, the land and sea area etc is the same size as San Andreas and as you probably already know your character is a russian mafia man.

k4t - I heard that your character is just 'Eastern European' and you never find out where he's actually from.

The review I read in official xbox 360 magazine gave it 10 out of 10. That's only the 4th game they've ever given that score to - the others being Bioshock, Project Gotham Racing 4 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

They said the attention to detail is amazing e.g. your in-game mobile causing interference with the radio, people on the street joining in when you start beating someone up and then run screaming when you pull out a gun, being able to get a private dance at a lap dancing club or setting up an Internet date.

I wouldnt go buying a console purely for GTA4, its horridly overrated.

The magazines and reviewers were always going to give it high marks purely because its GTA.

The music and storyline are meant to be horrible, the game play on the 360 is meant to be **** poor and there's random 3 minute long load times on the ps3.

My bro has it for 360 and I gotta say, from what I've seen of it, I'm rather disappointed with it :eek:

I have played 2, London, III, Vice City, Vice and Liberty City Stories, and SA (albeit on different consoles ;)) but imo, Vice City is the best GTA game.

The realism is out of this world. The only slight thing wrong is that the cars are

I haven't got money for PS3 or 360...:( i must save money for them...if I lived in England it would be easy to buy one,because i would have much more money ;)
But not so, as you'd be fleeced for petrol on ur way to the shops, you'd get a speeding ticket on the way, a parking fine outside the shop and, then Mr Taxman would fleece you jus because he can.

I finally got my copy of GTAIV on Friday (so it was a bit pointless preordering it really :rolleyes: ) and played it for a couple of hours.

It is a bit difficult to control the car and at one point I totally lost control of Roman's taxi and it somehow landed on top of a wall with the rear wheels stuck in the air so I couldn't move! I had to just get out of the car and steal someone elses!

I got run over a couple of times running out into the middle of the road (I just presumed the cars would stop for some reason). I died in the shootout where you're trying to protect that rasta bloke because I made the mistake of only shooting one of the guys 4 times :rolleyes: so I walked out from where I was hiding and as I walked past him he stood up and shot me a few times before I'd even realised what had happened.

The magazine review said you never find out which country you're from but I'm sure at the start of the game he says he's speaking Serbian. Anyone know if any other countries, apart from Serbia obviously :D , speak Serbian?

I've experienced getting drunk in GTA IV now and managed to run someone over as I drove Roman home so had the cops chasing me! Gees, it's difficult to drive drunk!!! I'd been drinking at Comrades Bar though so I didn't have far to go before I dropped Roman off and then you instantly sober up so the police lose interest.

I've made sweet love to the lovely Michelle, carried out a contract killing, executed Vlad and had my first couple of 3 star police chases.

Just 89% of the game still to go :eek:

I played GTA after a few beers over the weekend and died 4 times!!! 3 times I was shot by cops and the 4th I crashed into a gas canister and my car exploded.

A slight glitch I thought with one of them though because I got out of my car when the cops were chasing me and had my arms in the air to surrender and the cops shot me!!!

I went up to one of the bridges that's blocked off by police to see what happens too. Instant 6 star rating! I managed to last just under 3 minutes before being killed by police snipers. Might try that again when I'm sober to see if I can unlock the 'last for 5 minutes on 6 star rating' achievement.

I found a couple of the stunt jumps too - pretty cool watching yourself fly slo-mo through the air.

Just want to point out to members, that if playing and you use cheats, its likely your game will freeze.

2 of my mates have had this happen and they are being refused a refund because they've implemented them and its not a fault with the game.

A bit like jailbreaking an ipod and hence voiding its warranty.

So cheat at your own risk.. :p

Its modifying your iPod Touch/iPhone so that you can add 3rd Party applications to it.

Sort of like installing games and features and useful utilities to make it better.

I did it to mine and so far so good. :o



But do so at your own risk peoples, I'm not recommending you do it unless you are aware of your actions! ;)

I got a new 360 and a new copy of GTA yesterday and I have to say it is arguably the best game I have ever played, I had only got about 4 hours in before I dropped the 360 and GTA was stuck inside it lol, and i was slightly disappointed but I played about 5 hours last night and it is so immersive, it is right up there with Zelda: OOT and Half-Life 1 and 2 for me

i love the storyline it gets so good after you get to Bohan. i'm about half way through the story line missons.

drew, press start, go on to your stats, go down to all the mission progress bits and make sure you are on 100% for all of them... easy way opf finding out ;)

also, im on the last mission...but i cba to do it...

GTA IV is the best game on earth.

Top Spin 3 is very very good.

Call of Duty 4 only lasts if you play online a lot and like 1st person games.

Get an Xbox 360! It's worth buying a consolel just for GTA IV. Stunning game. It has a 98 average rating on Metacritic for a reason.

I thought GTA IV was extremely long. The freeplay is far more fun than in San Andreas, but you'll want to do the storyline because it's so good.

More things to do, better graphics, better cars, incredible storyline, better characters, better city etc. The cop system is way cooler, you have a phone that does everything, there's an entire online world in the internet cafes, you can watch TV, order guns wherever you are, use taxis, the missions are freakin' awesome, bullet holes appear when you shoot cars and stay there, cars don't blow up the second they tip over, there are comedy clubs etc. etc.

The online was awesome when I played it, but I can only play at the end of the month when it doesn't matter how much internet I use, because I have a monthly usage cap (that's South Africa :rolleyes: ). I've only played GTA Race, Cops 'n Crooks & Party Mode but all were fun as hell.
