Pardon the sensationalist title, but I can't believe what the great Ronaldinho is doing to his career, just so he can move away from the Nou Camp
City hold Ronaldinho talks
Executive director claims discussions have taken place
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3458879,00.html
Manchester City executive director Taweesuk Jack Srisumrid has claimed that the club have held talks over a deal for Barcelona star Ronaldinho.
The 28-year-old Brazilian appeared to be set for a summer transfer to Serie A side Milan, however reports claim a deal has stalled.
City have also been linked with the former World Player of the Year, but manager Sven Goran Eriksson has been keen to delay talk of a move until the season has concluded.
However, it is reported in Tuesday's press that Ronaldinho's brother and agent Roberto de Assis met with Taweesuk over a deal.
Galacticos
"What we will look to do in the summer is to further boost the squad, bring in top-quality, internationally recognised players," Taweesuk told The Daily Telegraph.
"Superstars would help fill the stadium and help our global branding. Primarily, we must win on the pitch - it can't be a gimmick.
"We've had discussions [with Ronaldinho] but we'll see how that pans out.
"We've looked at a host of players. Man City having discussions with superstar players used to be unimaginable, but not now.
"It won't be a galacticos strategy, but older famous names. We want to build around the team we have."

Milan are nearly as bad as city guys, they're in a mess!! City will give him big money and they're obviously building something there! bringing in Ronaldinho will see a lot more top players joining them, money will be on 4th spot next season if they pull off a few big deals!!

This is all about money. Citeh are desperate for a "big name" signing and will pay over the odds in an effort to reclaim the lost seats at the Council tip. Milan, more realistically are possibly offering quite a bit less, as a "big name" does not phase them at all.

Ahead of Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo going head-to-head with FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi, Swedish legend and former Barcelona hitman Henrik Larsson has suggested that neither will ever be as good as Ronaldinho...
The Swedish striker won the 2006 Champions League with a Barcelona side led by Ronaldinho, and has since spent a brief period on loan at Manchester United, playing a small but vital role in them winning their first Premier League title in four years.
Many felt the Glasgow Celtic legend was performing well enough to continue at Old Trafford, but he opted to return to Sweden to play for his hometown club IF Helsingborgs.
Despite the Red Devils' recent success and ongoing lack of a striker in Larsson's mould, he is adamant that though he is happy for the club, he has no regrets.
"When I signed the contract it was for 10 weeks," he said. "I'm happy for them that they're playing great but in terms of regrets, no."
Having played for both clubs, the 36-year-old has given his thoughts on each team's star player. He was full of praise for both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but asserted that neither were in the same league as Ronaldinho is - or at least was in his prime.
"Messi has a better left foot and Ronaldo a better right foot," joked Larsson.
"Ronaldo was fantastic last season and this season better. It's a joy to watch football the way he plays it. Now he's one of the best in the world, if not the best.
"Messi's an unbelievable talent. Unfortunately he's had injuries. He's still a kid and developing, but he's going to become even better."
Are they as good as Ronaldinho? "It'll be a long time before we see a player reaching those heights again."
Larsson refused to reveal whom he would be supporting on Wednesday night, insisting his main concern was whether he would be fit for Helsingborgs' league clash against Kalmar.

we should sign him . imagine a front three of rooney tevez and the buck toothed bandido . freddie kruger would hide with ugliness in triplicate like that . other teams would have to close the family areas out of health and safety concerns for the poor kiddies . the other sides inability to cope with the loss of revenue would force them to offload best players on cheap .
he would of course be banned from the bobbing for apples competition at the annual party

laugh all you like but the fact is that ac milan are not willing to pay the money that barcelona is asking for, and that citeh are, and frankly ac milan are playing absolutely horribly atm so I really would nt be surprised that he would go out and play at citeh next year.

Ronaldinho probably trying to revive his career at a lower club. But City? He should sign for Accrington Stanley instead.

Super agent Enzo Bronzetti has revealed that Manchester City have tabled a €40 million bid for FC Barcelona's Brazilian international Ronaldinho, while AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is reluctant to spend more than €15 million...
According to Spanish paper Sport ES, the Milan chief has offered a final figure believed to be in the region of €15 million, which is a long way off the Blaugrana's asking price.
Reports suggest that the Catalan club will not be willing to let the Brazilian magician go for what the Rossoneri have tabled and thus it seems as if the deal is starting to stumble as neither club can agree on the fee.
Premier League side Manchester City are believed to be interested in taking the Camp Nou star to Eastlands, but Ronaldinho does not seem to keen on the idea and super agent Ernesto Bronzetti has in the past stated that Dinho's desire is to play for Milan.
"I am aware of the attention of Manchester City for Ronaldinho, who have proposed to pay Barcelona €40 million (£31.6 million)," revealed Bronzetti.
"But he only wants Milan, we talked together in Barcelona at the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
"Rossoneri have an agreement with the player, now they deal with the Catalan club."
With Barcelona and Milan unable to reach an agreement, Gaucho's dream move to San Siro might just be on hold for the time being unless Galliani reaches deeper into his pockets in order to lure the player away from Catalonia.
The chief did not rule out upping his offer, but strongly suggested he would not be bidding in the same region as Thaksin Shinawatra's City.
"Unless Barcelona lower the price for Ronaldinho then he will not be coming to Milan, we will not sign him for the price they are asking," said Galliani.
Meanwhile Milan will be hoping they can beat Inter in the Derby Della Madonina this weekend when they take on Inter. The Rossoneri will be hoping they can finish fourth this season and qualify for the Champions League, which may give them the revenue to up their offer if only slightly.
