Chelsea and Man Utd are struggling to sell-out their allocation of tickets for the 21 May final as the price of travel and accommodation is putting fans off according to The Independent newspaper.
I had a suspicion that Moscow would prove to be a damp squid. This should have been retained in the western half of Europe. Moscow are pricing themselves out of business over this and could end up with egg on their faces, and it won't be a Faberge egg!!

if the final was in western europe i'd have been 100% commited to get tickets and go.....if me and the mrs wanted to go it would cost over £2000-£2500 easy.. ...

Not really ... thats a bit unfair !
I agree Moscow is a joke ... it is just too far away.
But the rest of Eastern Europe is easy to access ...
Much, much cheaper ...
And very welcoming and friendly ...
Plus ... We need things like this, to get us on the map.
Eastern Europe is a great place ... we just need to spread the word :)

What's wrong with the idea of sleeping in a rented car or just toughing it out in the streets?

Along with some wild assumptions as to what kind of

All nonsense ...

Shame really that wembley stadium was not completed on time when the decision was made back then in october 2006 by the uefa commitee as to who would be hosting the 2008 champions league final as wembley stadium was a firm favourite to host it.

ticket prices i would have bared on the chin, accommodation i would have gritted it out with a bottle of vodka and some 'casual' clothes. so that when i sit in the corner of the ally i'll just be 'some drunk Russian'.. oh and i'd learn to say (deleted) in Russian to keep the scoundrels away lol.
Russia is too far away for me to go to to watch a football match; i just about made it to manchester for the first time this yr (vs Bolton to see Ronaldo be the Best ever winger the English League has ever seen :p), let alone Moscow!!!.
In saying that, werei working and a 'bit of spare money' around, i'd spend up to £1000 on a package to Moscow.

The Sunday Business Post
Some 2,000 Irish fans of Manchester United are spending an average of €2,400 each to get to the Champions League final in Moscow on Wednesday.
Derek Berney, chairman of the Irish branch of the Manchester United Supporters’ Club, said there would be a ‘‘couple of thousand fans travelling from Ireland’’ at an average cost of €1,300 to €1,400 per person, for flights and tickets.
The estimate does not include hotels, or paying more than face value for match tickets. Tickets for the match between United and Chelsea cost about €180, which includes a €15 charge by Uefa for transport from the airport to the Luzhniki Stadion, even though many fans have organised their own transport. Some fans are taking non-direct routes in a bid to keep costs down.
‘‘I know of one lot of fans who are flying Dublin to Gatwick, Gatwick to Riga, and then on to Moscow,” said Berney.
Fans were hit with a further charge last week, when many were forced to fly to Manchester to pick up their match tickets. The tickets were not ready to be issued until last Wednesday, and Manchester United decided it was too late to post them. Fans were given a choice of picking up tickets in Manchester or waiting for them to be sent by UPS. Those who went to Old Trafford faced five-hour queues.

It's crazy isn't it!
UEFA have made a mistake holding it in Russia IMO
I know a lad whos forked out €2,500+ for himslf and his mate to go from Dublin,
and two tickets. It is absoulutly crazy holding it Russia to me!
Not the place to say, but it was harder to get tickets for this years FA Cup final, then it was for last seasons!

Why do you always defend real_fan?
The guy comes on here slagging us all off for being 'armchair supporters'
while claiming to have been at two different games at opposite ends of
the country at the same time. he's a wind up merchant and has NEVER
once said a single positive thing about United. He constantly makes
trouble on here and is rightly serving an eight day ban.

Because, most of the time, he talks sense. And I find myself agreeing with his comments, more-so than thos which one disagrees.
There you go again, bringing up the fact where he said that he was at two games, does it matter? Who cares. He knows what various aspects of the footballing world are doing to MUFC, and expresses his views accordingly.
He says bad points of United because there are bad points at Manchester United. We are not a club which are in the best position.
However, I do agree that attacking "armchair supporters" is out of order.

Yes it matters. He uses the myth that he goes to games as a basis
for slagging off non match-going fans. If he doesn't actually go to
games then where's his argument? I honestly cannot have any
respect for a guy who is so blatantly caught lying and does not
have the decency to apologize.
Fair enough you may agree with some of his comments, but to go
as far as defending a guy with a serious lack of integrity? Not for me thanks.

My mates da has two tickets to the final.
€140 each
He simply can't afford to go to the game.
For himself and a mate, its €2,500+, and not many have that sort of cash at hand!
I was offered them, but no one will simply go with me. I would have paid for my share if I was taken! :(

I have to ask why it was even suggested for the final to be in Moscow! Im suprised that Utd didnt have to do a chelski and send tickets back.
So what do we have. Out of 84,745 capacity stadium, 16,000 chelski and 22.000 united fans - where do the other 46,745 seats go. Surely they cant ALL be for security....

Some are UEFA tickets, others are corporate, but I can't complain, as I wouldn't have a ticket if it wasn't for my dad getting one through his work.

Because what ff said was true; going to Moscow you will accept a bed (or somewhere to have a poor nights sleep) with open arms, you can't get a luxary hotel room, they're all sold out months ago.
Is Antdevil's response not in direct reply to fake_fan? I think it is and I think he's fuly entitled to his opinion, as we all are.
Not really. He is being sarcastic by saying he's the best fan, instead of saying something which will contradict him and offer a good argument. Instead he said it's tiresome, when ff/rf said a fully valid point.

My understanding is that the capacity of the stadium is over 80000 but for security reasons this has been reduced to 69500 for this game.
United have sold out their 21000 allocation and Chelsea sent back 5000 tickets so have sold 16000.
This leaves 32500 tickets. I heard Roman Abramovich bought a block of a few thousand but I'm not sure how much truth there is in that. The rest will be used by UEFA delegates and their families, the people of Moscow and touts (so they could end up in anybodies hands).
I reckon there will be at least 30000 United supporters inside the stadium.
