I would say Scotland, but since their not in it (:p) I gotta say Holland.
I always have a soft spot for them. Their football is great and I hope they win it.
They also have nice strips ;).

I won't go for Spain due to their chokey performances in big tournaments, despite possessing an unbelievable team.
I'm gonna support a bit of an underdog in Holland.
hopefully Huntelaar will show us what he's made of, though I fear his price tag will go up to £20m+ if he has a good tourny, and chelsea will probably come in and steal him lol.

IMO Holland and Portugal could turn out really poor. Especially Holland, because there defence is awful and they conceded 3 to Austria (yes the worst team around) a couple of months back. Portugal also don't have a good striker and hardly ever have had! There wing is the best - Ronaldo/Nani/Quaresma/Simao but there strike force is terrible - Nuno Gomes and Pauleta and people they just can't hack it!
So I think it could be Germany or maybe France Italy Spain.
I worked it out to be something like a Germany Vs Spain final i think. Im going to root for Germany - Lahm and Schweinsteiger ;)

Portugal - I have a bet on them.
I have a fiver on Portugal at 7/1
fiver on Spain at 6/1
10euro on France at 9/1
So I should win something I reckon...... :)
Another bet I have is Ronnie to finish top scorer 11/1
and Henry at 16/1.
Oh yeah but I want France to win. Allez les Bleus!!!

I'll go for Portugal regardless Ronaldo's leaving. Look at the progress they've made in Euros: quarter finals in 96, semis in 2000, runner-up in 2004. So what must it be in 2008?
They don't have so many top players, but they got the top manager, say Scolari. He led Portugal to the semi in World Cup 2006, and the side is obviously much stronger now.

GERMANY!!! :D I think they definitely have the players. Ballack is a world class attacking CENTRAL mid.
Nobody else has a world class player in that position. Modric is too young. Iniesta isn't a goalscorer and can't dominate although I'm a huge fan.
Xavi can score but can also go missing. A tad overrated in my opinion. Schneider is young and not quite as good as they say.
Pirlo is world class but doesn't physically dominate matches as he is not the strongest. He also sits too deep to score from open play.
De Rossi is very good but not world class by any means and not a dominater.
Van De Vaart I'll have to see but he's not world class yet. Wait and see.
Deco is very good but he's recently recovered and has had an underwhelming season by his standards. Ditto Maniche.
In fact that's about all of the big name attacking center mids, isn't it? Ballack must be lonely, his kind are a dying breed.
I would cry except, for reasons unknown, I have conjuctivitis and I don't want to wash out my eyedrops. :p

I gotta say Holland.
and holland
I'm gonna support a bit of an underdog in Holland.
Holland for me....
Plenty of people think Holland can win this ...
In the past 9 months Romania have whooped these boys twice ...
And drawn one game too ...
Oh yes and not in friendly games either ...
Holland wanted the points badly to qualify ahead of Bulgaria ...
They came to Constanta and left with nothing !!!
We went to their place and we stood firm and strong and took
2 points from them !!
They again came to Bucuresti and we sent them packing with NOTHING again !!
People talk about the 'Group of Death' ... and mention Holland, Italy and France !!
As Thierry Henry said: "This is a 4 team group, dont ever forget that, it's a 4 team
group. Romania are a great footballing nation and they can beat any of us on
their day"
Greece won this tournament, Denmark too when both of them 'had no chance'.
We have Cristian Chivu, Paul Codrea, Dorin Goian and Gabriel Tamas who make a
strong disciplined defensive line..... Goian is huge, strong much like Vidic and he
commands respect ! Razsvan Rat is a full back who can attack down the left like
Evra but faster ! Florentin Petre or Banel Nicolita can both play left attacking
midfielder (Please play Petre). Up front we have the mind boggling skills of
Ciprian Marica (watch out for hm) ... Marica dovetails nicely with the great,
amazing Adrian Mutu !!! 4 years ago he was drinking the blood of porn stars and
snorting cocaine like it was a game !! Now he is a settled family man with 2
babies and a lovely wife, playing in the form of his life for Fiorentina and for
Romania !!
All the way through the team we have balance, cohesion and character !
Victor Piturca has returned to manage the team and he has always qualified for
every tournament as national coach !! Again it happened as he returned to
coach the guys for Euro 2008. Common wisdon tells you to never go back, but
Victor Piturca had unfinished business and by leading us to the finals of Euro 2008
he has made his point in typically undemonstrative style !!
It is Romania's misfortune to be cast into the Group of Death.
They may still be favourites to finish bottom of that group, but they are good
enough to give the three so called 'big teams' a very, very nasty surprise.
Believe me ...
PITURCA'S REVENGE MAY NOT BE OVER YET !!!
Hai Romania !!!!!!!!! http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k211/small_carly/MSN/romaniaflag-1.gif

Out of the 16 teams, I have a soft spot for Italy, Spain and Portugal.
Out of the 3 teams, I prefer Spain to be the first to be knocked out.
Out of the remaining 2 teams, I prefer Portugal to win the Euro 08, despite you know who doing our heads in.
Why?
Because objectively, they are an exciting team that keep producing so many young talents on display that you just can't help but wish that they will really come through this ultra-tough competition as the new European Champions.

you should check your stats again - pauleta is their all time top scorer ! oh and it is stupid that the teams from the A and C group and B and D can't play against eachother all the way untill the final - it's like having 2 parallel EC's - the teams who played eachother in the group can't meet in the final - semifinal is their destination ..
i think the germans are overrated , italy lacks a great manager, spain and holland lacks "unity" , so my guess is France - Portugal ( if they can meet in the final ).nevertheless - one of those 2

Holland. My dad put a bet on for me before the tournament at 12/1. Pity he only put £5 on
But anyway, they are so classy and have been incredible. Their attacking players are absolute class, and their defence is quite good.
They also have great strength in depth as well imo (Well, maybe apart from defence ;))
I'm finding it hard not to get excited with the way they're playing. I think I might

I'm gonna reply to the players I would seriously disagree with;
Ballack - no doubt he is a very good player. But hes not World Class imo. I'll probably get slated for this, but I think hes over-rated. He only plays well when thing are going his way. He can't grab the game by the scruff of the neck, and when things aren't going his way he loses his cool. He can't take losing.
Modric - I think his performances so far have proved you wrong.
Iniesta - Under-rated imo. Big fan of his, although hes more effective in the centre.
Xavi - Great player, and can go missing, as can Ballack!
Sneijder - I have to seriously disagree. I think hes a class player, and his performance so far have been great. I would have him for United anyday if there was a gap in the squad in his position, but there isn't.
Pirlo - I don't think he sits too deep, and hes not in the team/squad to be the physical player. Hes the creator. Gattuso, for example, is the physical player (although he is over-rated too)
Van Der Vaart - He may not be World Class yet, but hes another player who has been great, especially against France. I thought he was just an attacking player, but against France he was winning tackles as well.
Deco - I thought and still think he's past his best. But he has still been great in the Euros. Though I wouldn't be worried if Chelsea signed him.
