The waiting list disappeared when the Glazer's put up ticket prices and brought in compulsory membership of the cup ticket scheme...
A very small number of Season Tickets are still available (single seats only) in various areas of the stadium, please call 0870 442 1999 to check availability. Season Ticket prices range from £540 to £792.
Season ticket prices DO NOT include tickets for cup matches. All cup matches will be charged in addition as part of the the cup ticket scheme, membership of which is a requirement for all season ticket holders.

Well I was on the waiting list around about 11,000 i think two years ago and last year i was 9,500 and I got offered a season ticket at the end of the year. I didnt take it because I was short of money at the time but next year I will definately take it up.
Got one year season ticket for south stand front row but its too low. When I renew will I be able to ask for a change of seat?? Wats the chances???

Just ask to move to a different place in the ground.
They should do it. Quadrants are usually places available.
Contacted ticket office and talk about getting a frightening reply. He told me that a decision has yet to be made on whether the One Year Season Ticket option willed be offered again this season and therefore whether or not I will even get the chance to renew. Board have yet to make that decision! Therefore he couldn't answer my initial question on whether or not I could move seats. Disgraceful. What really bugs me is that I was on membership list and waiting list long before my mate and I was offered a One Year option and a few weeks later my mate rang up and got a full season ticket!!!!!

They struggle to get rid of ST's.
The waiting list is a load of rubbish, it's getting a well-known fact. Last year, you could phone up and get a season ticket.
With more price rises expected, and the ACS continuation, more and more people will pack in the season ticket.
They won't give up a chance to get rid of them.

At the end of the 2006/07 season, ST holders could only re-locate due to medical reasons. E.g. Someone could move from East Stand Tier 2 to South Stand because they found it difficult to climb the stairs to their seat etc.
In previous years you could re-locate a lot easier but last season they didn't really seem to want to know. I'm not sure what the situation will be at the end of this season

Mate of mine has 2 front row of tier 3.
Asked to move to the Stretty 2. THey said they can but back row.
So they kept it as they are.

Been United fan for life. Been a member for 4 years now and considering putting name on list for season ticket.
Can anyone explain to me the Automatic Cup Scheme. Have i got it right that you buy a season ticket on the provision that your billed for all the cup games at OT regardless of whether you want to go or not.
Also what are current season ticket holders views on the scheme and if I am to apply now, when would i be likely to get a season ticket.

i am a member to, i have put my name down on the waiting list. i have heard that u r usually offered a season ticket in the quadrants. (one of the more expensive.) i have also heard that there could be more on offer if the prices are put up anymore.
their is no harm in putting your name down, at least you get a choice that if u r offered one u can say yes or no.
the automatic cup scheme means that every season ticket holder gets a guaranteed ticket for every Manchester United home game. (F.A cup, Carling Cup and Europe.) you dont get a choice u get the tickets.
if u didnt want to go 4 any reason or you couldnt make it u can sell the tickets on ticket exchange.
hope that helps

And the cup scheme is a lot of crap, from the season ticket holders.

hopefully that tweak will be that it aint compulsary.
as much as i love united. evening game watching youth team in carling cup at £30 plus travel just dont cut it for me.
Only realised this season that champ league game tickets cost more for each round. Does it cost more to run the stadium for a semi-final than a quarter-final. Prices for these games are extortionate

Money making scheme. Nothing we can do. Everyone will pay it though.
Heard a rumour about that it will be only making Europen games compulsory, although anything can be happening.

prices now are making supporters think twice. At the bolton game i was in the east stand and there were loads of empty seats and also in the quadrants so making it so expensive aint gonna fill the ground for the games against lesser teams where it also may be televised.
Also suppose you could argue that where are these same fans who fight like mad to get tickets for the big 4 games

Yeah, but the European Cup latter stages are must-see games, with guarnteed good atmosphere. You know we'll have our best team out, and look at the prize at the end.
I know a load of lads who are jacking in the ST next year.

As a United fan, all games are must see games. The only problem is when you cant physically afford to go.
Going to live football matches is now a luxury very few people can afford and genuine die-hard fans are missing out as a result to Roy Keane's Prawn Sandwich brigade (South Stand especially)
If you want evidence of that then look at the South Stand during any game and see how many camera flashes there are. Then take a quick look at the other stands and there are nowhere as many

Yes, taking pictures is all well and good before the game, but not when they're about to take a corner and you shove some fat camara in Giggs' face!

Yes, unfortunatley Old Trafford is a tourist attraction. Football is meant to be something the working-class man looks forward to at the weekend after a tough week at work.
Only put the true, non-muppet United fans in Old Trafford, you'll find it hard to fill a stand.

Many believe now, that there is no waiting list. June 2007, you could phone up and get a ST. United were desperatly trying to shift them.

Because of the new seats or because they were now too expensive?
Bit of both, in my opinion.
With the price hikes every season, more and more people are dropping out simply because they can't afford it. Which inevitably opens up more gaps for new ST holders to step in.
There is always someone to take your seat if you don't at United. Which is a problem if there ever was any real action taken over price hikes and the ACS.
The opening of the quadrants extended the capacity by an extra 10,000 or so. Leading onto more ST's available.
United couldn't get rid of ST's this season. The first few games of the season, there were always extra tickets coming up for members. These were the ST's they couldn't sell.
Wouldn't be suprised if the situation was replicated this year. Especially with more price rises suspected, you just never know.

Not a season ticket member but got tickets to the bolton and liverpool games and set me back £90 inc travel. Got offered one for villa game but to spend £150 in week on football is crazy even for United.
The problem lies in the fact that people who run the club know if they stick an extra £5 on games, the people who will stop goin will be replaced be others who will pay £40-50 per game as they will go to one game a season and thats it for them or will just try to get to the big one against the bigger clubs.

season ticket strettford end (not the most expensive) 627 plus 33quid for every cup game (even though i very rarely go to cup games due to work)
but for champions league knock out games it goes up to 42-45 area
rip off mate if i was you id rather just go to the odd game and enjoy yaself than pay this stupid price
oh also season tickets and tickets all over the ground are going up AGAIN nesxt season looks like 30% increase

OT will be full of more execs and day trippers next season due to our loyal support being priced out

Hey,
I'm not a season ticket holder and I'm not on the list.
I intend to apply for one in a year or two when I leave school, but from what I
know, the waiting list doesn't exist. You should be able to get a season ticket for
next season if you apply this Summer.
I'm not 100% sure though mate, but hats what I think it is. ;)
Enjoy!

There is a waiting list. But it's not the 50-year one touted about.
It's only a waiting list because tickets aren't on sale. So wen people register their interest for a ST, then as MUFC cannot give them one til June, they put them to one side creating a waiting list.

^ yeah i used to be the same with it. used to hate not being able to afford going to see man utd because you literally cant live if you did every week. and then you get idiots from other clubs saying your not a dedicated supporter when really most of OT is full of tourists. but now i got a promotion at work so i can afford a season ticket so i dont have to listen to them idiots no more. but i know what you mean lads. could be worse tho, cheapest season ticket for chelsea underneath the shed end is £750 and if you sit under the shed you get half the pitch cut off from sight. so could be worse i guess lol

Been there, done that.
When I was on the train home after watching us play Wigan at Old Trafford I got into an argument with a Wigan season ticket holder because he was calling me 'glory hunter' and laughed when I told him I get to between 5 and 10 games per season saying it proved his point.
Recently on NW tonight they were talking about season ticket prices and I saw that you could get a season ticket for Wigan for as little as £250! I spent more than that on tickets this season and I only went to 8 matches!!!

You just have to buy every cup game and not opt out of the carling cup to be able to apply for aways.

liverpool away is raw atmosphere ?
doubt it mate i stood next to 5 chinese women dressed in liverpool shirts last season !!!
liverpool, arsenal, chelsea, spurs and city are the worst aways because they attract the executives who have priority.
games like stoke hull west brom villa boro etc... are the best aways as you get the loyal long serving reds going.
id apply for every away game but chances are you will get 0/19
my mate did well and he got 2/19 !!
put it this way lads
off our season tickets 5 lads applied for every away thats 95 applications
we got 7 tickets all season between 5.
do the maths its not a good chance. i always have to go through swapping my home games with touts etc...

Plus, if you say get chubbed for Everton away, yet you got Fulham away in the ballot, but you can't go to Fulham. There will always be someone to swap their Everton for your Fulham (with cash difference made up either way).
Trust me. It gets your reputation up aswell.
THat's if you ever get an away in the ballot of course.

Yes and No.
It wasn't a huge game and I travel quite a long way so no immediate friends definitely would of bought them. And I have never re-sold tickets on before any other way than face value to mates.
Was just a warning if you are desperate try both ASAP. Plus ticket exchange is always more exspesive with booking charge.

Yep.
It's a scan enter anyway, so it doesn't matter whether you have the right tier of ticket. And anyone can use the season ticket.

:D got my season ticket today. in E335, not the greatest but im happy cause its my first one. just thought id share the love and good luck to all those who are applying and thanks to people in the ticket section of the forum that helped me out with questions i had about the season ticket. £665 tho, was pretty savage lol
Hey there, look at my nickname and guess what one year season ticket I got also :D
We'll have to meet for a drink lol
Question Guys & Gals
Can you ask for a book instead of a card?
Reason behind this is when I give tickets away to mates when I cannot attend.
It's not like I dont trust my friends but some of these would be work colleague's or
ppl you dont see everyday and its like handing them £665 to look after for a day lol

Nope they are all cards.
Tickets are meant to be non-transferable anyway (but obviously no-one sticks by that).

Finally sorted! Was upgraded from One Year Season Ticket to Permanent. Was relocated from front row in South Lower to 8 rows up in South Upper. Should be a good view from there! Anybody ever sat there?
Nice one. I'm guessing the view will be good from there. If you know the block your in take a look at the view from there:

The atmosphere in the South Stand isn't the best though :(
