I cannot understand why in England you don't have the right consideration of BUFFON: he's simply not only the best of the world, but the best ever.

He's won 4 times the FIFA best keeper of the year; he was near to the Ballon d'Or (missed just because he went to play in second division). he was probably the best player of World Cup 06 and decisive for the final victory

He has not committed mistakes during the last 5-6 years, making at the same time lots of miracles

Lots of great champions have played recently for JUVE: I ensure you, nobody has taken more points than him at the end of the season........
Last year's JUVE renaissance was based on his renewal: first time in the history a top team found the squad on the goalkeeper

I see what you are saying and agree to a certain extent. I think Casillas is
up there with Buffon as the best in the world slightly ahead of VDS and Cech.

I don't think Cech is up there with VDS and the other two..

Ever since his injury he's never lookd very safe IMO. Cause for many mis-haps
now in Chelski's goal and somewhat like Mr. Barthez. Pulls off incredible saves
from time to time but has some aweful howlers at times.

A main reason we don't see much of the mistakes is because he does have a
solid defence in front of him so its hard for the opposition to get any meaningful
shots on goal.


As for Buffon, why on earth would he leave Juventus? He's in with a cance of glory
every year there and to leave for Citeh would be one of the biggest mistakes of a
footballers life! ....Stupid money though thats being rumoured...60M on a
keeper!!!!!!

Casillas has a good shout to win player of the year. Id give him third after
Ronaldo and Messi. He has had a great season winning the league and
captaining his country to Euro success. No mistakes and loads of amazing saves.
So for me, its impossible to rate Buffon higher that him based on events in the last 12 months.
