Gay Professional Players.
Rumours are circling around on the Professional Darts scene (P.D.C) that atleast 1 top player is Gay &/or Bi-sexual but has been advised that he should not come out & say so as it would obviously be detremental to his game & put the game in a bad light due to ridicule.
If a top professional footballer was gay do you think he should come out & say so.?
I say he shouldn't because he will get absolutely slaughtered every game he played.

I don't agree with it, i think he/they should come out & be left alone but it just won't work like that. Justin Fashanu would tell you this if he were alive today.

afterall, in this age and time, gayness is almost accepted everywhere.

Paul Elliot (Paul?), who used to play for Chelsea and Celtic, works for a group to stop discrimination or something (can't remember what it's called) and he knows of 12 players who are gay who have talked to him about it, but don't want to come out and admit it.
I wouldn't care if a player was gay, but I would really recommend any gay players to keep it to themselves. They would get definitely abuse, quite a lot imo about it, about it.

I have an idea who the Dart player in question is as it's a long time rumour but i don't think it'll be fair to say who it was on an Internet forum.?!

There are probably plenty of gay footballers but they don't come out because they will be persecuted about it. What difference does it make?

A gay player would get slaughtered, I'm afraid.
Look at the last player who came out in public. Attitudes towards homosexuality in football haven't changed much since then.
