Anybody following this poll, where people vote on the best possible team from this decade. Some very strange choices, such as Hyypia being overwhelmingly ahead of Rio, Terry, Stam... Am I biased or was he really THAT GOOD?

Maybe, we could do our own poll on each position?

What the **** are they doing in the team of the decade


Hargreaves and Veron hardly done anything compared to Scholes Gerrard Lampard Makélélé Vieira Keane Deco Xavi and Zidane

as for Samuel, good defender but there are many better ones this decade like Rio Stam Maldini etc,.....

Why don't you read my posts you tedious little fool? I underlined that I was selecting players who have
been top notch for the whole decade.

Veron in his day was better than all of those players with the exception of Zidane who, however, retired
in 2006.

Hargreaves > Vieira.

Also, Hargreaves has hardly done anything? How about two Champions Leagues, one at the age of 20?

Hargreaves has won two Champions League finals, more than Scholes (missed '99), Gerrard, Lampard,
Makelele, Vieira, Keane, Xavi (missed '05) and Zidane. Of the players you mentioned, only Deco has won
two Champions Leagues, but, let's be honest, he only had 3-4 years of quality, before and after that
phase he was average.

Makelele was a good player in his day but remember that he was 30 in 2003, meaning that he spent
most of his bright years in the 90s. Keane? Decent player, not in the last decade though, considering
he retired in 2005.

Samuel > Rio. Stam is 38 years of age and did a good job until 2005 or so, that's half a decade, compared
to Samuel who has had a decade of absolute quality.

Veron

He's recently won the South American player of the year award for the second time running, he regularly
plays for Argentina instead of Aguero and Riquelme, among others and he broke the British transfer record.

Nobody who saw him at Lazio can doubt his immense quality and absolutely superb passing.

its not about the trophies its about the quality of football the player produced
so what if Lampard did not win a UCL ? he was named the Premier league player of the decade he broke records with Chelsea and won 2 league tittles and scored in a champions league final
and so what if Xavi missed a champions league final ? he won many other stuff and was named the best player at the euro 2008 and Deco was quality from 2003 tell he joined Chelsea but he is not that bad wit Chelsea

Gerrard played in 2 champions league finals and scored a goal in one of them and had a decade of great football

Scholes was one of our best players in 2007 and he was 33, he had a quality decade
Keegan named him the best english midfield and said that "Scholes is absoloute world class player"
Edgar Davies said the he is the best midfielder in the world
he broke records like becoming the best english scorer in the UCL and won 6 league tittles 1 champions league tittle


Hargreaves had 7 years of good football in his 3 years at United he was injured for most of the time and even when he was fit in his first season Fergie used Carrick and Anderson/Scholes more than Hargreaves

Best days in the 90's ooh c'mon Peejay his finest time was with Real Madrid nad ti was in the early 2000's nad he was Chelsea's best played in the mid 00's

Veron NEVER got picked ahead of Riquelme
by the time Riquelme was playing for Argentina Veron was used a a Central midfielder while Riquelme was used as an attcking midfielder in a 4-5-1 formation with Crespo afont
i watch lots of Brasil and argentina and almost watched every Argentina and Brasil match in the last 3 COPA's (Copa America) and never seen Veron picked ahead of Riquelme
Riquelme retired from interntaional football after a bust up with Diego Maradona thus why Veron plays
and so what if if Veron won the best South American player of the year ? Tevez won it THREE TIMES INA ROW
and speaking of Riquelme did you watch 2007 Copa Libertadores ? i watched allot of it and watched the final because i like Gremio and Riquelme was one of the finest players i ever seen he scored in both legs and was the 2nd best goalscorer and the best player in the tourney
and just like Veron, Riquelme flopped at a big club like Veron did with us and chelsea
can't see one reason why Veron is ahead of Scholes or Zidane ?
Zidane only played 6 years of this decade but Veron only had good 6 years out of 10

Nesta has been injured for years, was the best defender in the world at one stage. Lucio has been very consistent over the decade, a good leader, composed and his pace compliments Cannavaro's more aggressive style.
I rate Iker over tem as Buffon has gone off the radar since 2006. Kahn was better in the 90's, started to make a lot of mistakes when he got near the end of his career.
Casillas hasn't even reached his prime yet and he's still up there with the best with another 10+ years left in the game.

but Nesta might go down as one of the best defenders ever graced the game
he didn't really miss allot of the decade he only missed about 2 years
he missed the last season and the first half of the season after the world cup becuase he was still recovering from the injury he got against Czech and when he returned into action Milan bounced back and the team was miles better

he is
a four-time member of the annual UEFA Team of the Year
Seria A Defender of the year for five times
2 Champions league winner
and a world cup winner

he was so unlucky with Italy missing all of their important finals but without a shadow of doubt he is the best defender of this decade and one of the best defenders off all the time and only him and Stam can achieve GOAT status while Rio Lucio etc.. all will be forgotten

nice formation Dazza its pretty much similar to mine but you had Rio inplace of Nesta and i had Ronaldo instead of Henry and my formation was 4-4-2 with Ruud and Ronaldo
