yeah Benzema is a great buy, i bought him for 30m but it was money well spent, especially as Tevez and Rooney have been injured for most of the season for me.

Had 07 was thinking of getting 08, for 9.99!! but they ran out ...

My season i had with United in 2007 was really good, won all the trophies up until 2012 without cheating! Find it a bit too easy.

So i started a Aston Villa save and won the league in the 07/08 season with the team lookin like this ....

Doesn't seem special but has moulded into a really decent team ...

Enyeama

Ratinho C. Davies Mellberg Marcelo

O'Neil Bodmer Kahlenberg Barry

Bent Bianchi

Just bought FM08 today on sale in GAME for 9.98

So started my United save, and I'm looking everywhere for a striker have roughly about 8 mil left. Need someone to compliment Roo/Tevez and is fast with decent finishing. Tried Huntelaar/Aguero but too expensive.

Looked on the si forum and asked for some help there but i hate it. I asked for help on a right mid (eventually got Gakpe) and then they started saying hmm heard of Ronaldo .. Even though i clearly stated a back up midfielder. So tbh i can't be bothered there again. There really unhelpful, they have about 60 odd pages of posts and i can't be bothered to rek through every massive paragraph written to find a decent cheap striker. So i asked for help there reply ... see above.

If you have patiencee, buy Iriome.

He's 20 at the start of the game but if you train him well and give a few first team experiences he;ll be a good back up right winger by the secod half of your second season and by the third season he'll be one of the best in Europe.

Another player who is great in the game is Jeremy Menez, but it will take more than 8mil. Keep an eye on him. you can play him anywhere across the middle of the pitch.

Gakpe is good to.

Also, check out Tom De Mul from Sevilla. The scouts always rae him as good, but he actually provides more assists than first-teamer Jesus Navas.

I know, cos I'm managing Sevilla at the moment

You still should have Saha, in the team, so maybe you don't need a striker.

8 mil will buy you Huntelaar though, but he;s nlt consistent in the game until the secon season.

If you want a back up winger try and get Freddy Adu, he develops very well and can play left right or off of the main striker. if you've got the cash get Giovani Dos Santos, he develops very well if you put him on the right training programme. and btw i think you can get Huntelaar quite cheap in the first season, other than that just go and get Henri Saivet from Bordeaux for absolutely nothing, develops into the next Eric Cantona, pure class.

Trust me, liedson is brilliant. I bought him for 8M and he was my top scorer in my first season. he plays for Sporting.

I bought Huntellear once for 15M and he was a total flop, what tactics do you think would help him? I play a fast tempo style so I don't know if that will help him.

Also i'm gonna buy saivet but what kind of training do you think I should give him? FWIW veloso turns into the best DM in the game with me, only 9M aswell!

If you buy Huntelaar you need to give him a lot of games so he can adjust, in the first season he wont be brilliant but in the game he grows and becomes more prolific, he's more affective when you play two wingers and Rooney/Tevez playing off of him, not right up front with him, attacking wing backs will help aswell and put your tactics to attack down both flanks so there are plenty of crosses comming in, i think the good old 4-4-2 works best for Huntelaar.

As for Saivet he is very young in the first season but if you wont to save yourself hassle and money buy him straight away in the game, then i loaned him out to Sunderland where he will become a first team regular (Him going somewhere where he'll be a regular is very important or the loan will make him go downhill and return a worse player with bad moral) after he returns edit his training schedule, include a lot of attacking work and his stats will go sky high, he develops very quickly and becomes one of the top goal scorers in the league, top class buy.

Cheers for that. It looks like I won't be buying Huntellear then as when I play 4-4-2 I always seem to get overrun in midfield (I finished 4th when I did that) but when I play 4-1-2-2-1/4-2-1-2-1 I usually win everything.

I've always wanted to play a full on 4-2-3-1 with the 3 all high up the pitch but I end up losing then aswell

btw whats up with quotes atm?

Hmm thats strange, well i suppose when you get further into the game and start to ourchase better players you will wint the midfield battle easier, i think thats why chelsea are always very difficault to beat because they always play with a narrow midfield which stops the likes of Ronaldo Giggs getting the ball.

I've just signed Dos Santos on a free transfer on my game, and Claude Makelele has just saved Man City from relegation as his first managers job, he won at Anfield and Samford Bridge to get them a 16th place finish, i couldnt quite believe it. Oh and i've just signed Teddy Sheringham as my new Assistant Manager

Cant wait until the 09' version comes out,
