was ummmmm'ing and aaaahh'ing over weather to get it, shall do.
cheers buddy.
I thought a thread would be up quicker than its taken about this game. But either not many people on here are fond of the FF games or they are too busy playing..![]()
If anyone was 50/50 about this then let me tell you it is class! I have it on PS3, the visuals are stunning, there is a chapter where a lake turns to crystal and the place looks beautiful.
The level up system work well, alot like FFX..and the battle system is superb. It's fast paced turn based action, with 'Paradigm Shifts' which are hard to master but are very effective.
Im 5 hours into it and the story is starting to pick up speed, just 'caught' my first Eidolon(summon). The 'Shiva Sisters'..
I can't remeber the last time i had such difficulty in putting down a game.
Anybody care to discuss the brilliance of this game? DO NOT SPOIL![]()

Great game, doesnt get proper going until about 10 hours in though...
FF7 & FF8 were legendary games, doubt they're anywhere close to as good as those.
If it's better than FF10 then it's probably worth looking at.
I haven't actually played this new FF, my above comment was a joke :P
RReds, i thought you ruined the game for me right there!!!!
I've played FFVII, VIII & X. And now on chapter 11 of XIII. It's the best one i've played so far, no question about it.
One thing i dont like is the summons, but i can live with it.
i'll check it out in a couple of months probs! Looking forward to it, hopefully no gaylord characters like Tidus in FF10!
Ive never played a FF before, but i know all about it.
I reluctantly bought this when a guy in work talked about it none stop for a week.
I nearly traded it in after the first hour. I'm now 8 hours in and i think it is incredible. (Although incredibly linear too!)
I had this for a short while, played about 12 hours but was so bored with it I got rid
Carlo, you should have waited till you finish the game. When you do the final boss the game really gets started. This game is a bit backwards but the best so far on PS3 for me.
jrpg's are games that are very close to my heart, but the genre is dieing a very slow and painful death. the purists and old skoolers, like me, will always give them a go, but wrpg's have definately sailed past them in terms of qality and inovation...
just like resi 5, ff13 wasnt enough, and considering the budget and the development time, the results were very lacklustre... bioware for example rolled mass effect 2 out 2yrs after mass effect 1... bethesda rolled out fallout 3 2yrs after oblivion...
the japanese games industry as a whole needs a shake up... thats why kojima is trying his hardest to pull away from konami and become a more western based developer...
ps. i know the fanboys will disagree, and yes it looks REAL pretty, but GT5 could very well be lacklustre when it comes out...
