I think buying Martins was a mistake too. He started well but went on an 8 game drought after Rooney got injured.

I have started again and this time got Bojan on loan from Barcelona for the season and signed a French winger/forward called Menez. He can play in all attacking positions and his first goal was a last-minute winner, which is a promising sign!

This time I lost 2-1 in the Community Shield but haven't lost since. I'm top of the league by 1 point over Chelsea with Arsenal 8 points behind and Liverpool 10 points behind.

I've only played 1 game in the Champions League, which I won 4-0 away from home, and beat Southend United in the 3rd round of the League Cup.

Let's hope I/injuries don't mess it up this time!

Cool Fm 08 Tips

Hey i've been playing the game since fm07.
Here are some cool tips for fm08.

Henry Saivet can be signed for free from Bordeaux at the start of the season. Believe me this guy has some serious potential.

Train Ronaldo to be a striker and watch him top the goal scoring charts.

If you haven't patched fm08, then u will be able to sign M.Owen for 9M pounds(he has a fee release clause). He is a serious goal scorer.( at least in the game)

Ever Banega and Lulinha can be bought at the start of the game for around 3M. They too have some serious potential. I recommend signing them and loaning them for a couple of seasons.

In the game( and also in the real world) we need a RB and Cristian Zaccardo is great at that position. He will be available for around 7.5M at the start of the game.

Mascherano will be available for free at the end of the first season. Just make sure that u put him in your shortlist.

Hope these are useful.

Very good tips.

Saivet is very similar to Welbeck and those two can be brilliant forwards, extremely high pace acceleration dribbling finishing and first touch.

Ended up winning the double in my first season (on my 2nd attempt ).

Beat Liverpool on penalties in the FA Cup Final after drawing 0-0 (which wasn't bad since Rooney and his replacement, Saha, both got injured during the game) and won the league by 12 points.

Rooney got 30 goals for the season, Tevez got 18 and Ronaldo got 14.

Got knocked out in the quarter-finals of the Champions League though against Lyon, which was disappointing. I drew 0-0 in France but lost 1-0 at Old Trafford

If,you play with a smaller club like me CSKA Sofia you`ll see what is the difference, and that`s much more exciting than playing with a bigger club like MU or Real Madrid and others

True, the most enjoyment I got out of this game was managing Colchester United. Kept them up too!!!
