like I care they ALL count!!!Woohoo

Dean Kiely was our Motm which says it all really. He was overworked against
a slick looking Colombian side who are ranked the 3rd best team in South America.

First win for Trappers and the initial signs seem positive enough. The Italian's
teams are known to battle and scrape wins, so it's a great start for him as
manager and long.

Where are the Irish boys at?
Any thoughts lads? cos I was otherwise engaged and missed the games.
So give me your analysis and impressions of the new lads in the squad.
Thanks....

watched the second half of the columbia game and have to say we were outplayed especially in midfield where we we were overrun. On a brighter note we looked solid defensively and arrested that annoying habit of ourse of conceding late goals. We seem to defend more as a unit.mcshane and o'shea looked sound and good to see the former clearing his lines and not being found out as he was against serbia for their goal. Up front very impressed with doyle who i like as a player.

can see him being snapped up by a premiership side as his work rate is excellent and is quality in general

I thought Columbia were actually very unlucky not to get something from it.

Dean Kiely was absolutely remarkable in goal! That double save in the first half was breathtaking!

I fancy Andy Keogh and Damien(is it?) Delaney for Ireland.

Keogh is a neat winger and Delaney seems to be a very tight and skillful left back...

yeah forgot about kIely who was superb and is great back up for given. 2 quality keepers which is sometihing we didnt have unfortunately with paddy kenny who seemed overawed by international football.

Keogh looks a good prospect and what a goal against the serbs and yes like damien delaney( yes that is his christian name) a real prospect. do you know who the latter plays for ? must admit never heard of him until last week.

once we get the 2 reids, and hopefully finnan and ireland back I feel we can compete with anybody in our group

He currently plays for QPR, and had a spell at Leicester.

Wonder if he's ever make it with a top team......

Delaney looked pretty good!!

The advantage of having Brady in the set up is that he knows ALL of the young talent in England, so he know's who will and who wont have what it takes at international level.. could be exciting times ahead,. although we were awful in both friendlies we'll see , hopefully he'll have us in shape by the time the games get serious!!

yeah I agree that there could be exciting times ahead. At last we have a manager who can command respect and be ruthless if necessary and who wont suffer fools gladly. Sounds like Jack charlton's attributes except I am confident we can play some decent football. besides in player like keane, duff, dunne given doyle, o'shea, the 2 reids, hunt.mcgeady, hopefully Stephen ireland and Steve Finnan we have players more than capable of holding their own at international level. the players at the very least have no excuses this time and have a duty to perform for their country-something that has been sadly lacking in recent years.

viva Irlanda!!

DOUBTS EMERGE OVER GEORGIA GAMES

The Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifier against Georgia in Tbilisi next month
could be in doubt after FAI officials expressed "concern" over the conflict in the country.
