There is no point pestering the lad. We want players who WANT to play
for their country. Time will tell.

I have to be honest I dont recognise a few of the names. Obviously some
young blood is coming in. Im not over ecstatic looking at the defenders to be
honest. No Finnan and OBrien either......

I thought he was taking a squad of 40 away to Spain or Portugal???
Is this the squad for the Serbia game?

dont think so jazz as for one Robbie should be back for that game. Seemingly he is going on his stag party to las vegas so will miss the forthcoming friendlies which is fair enough imo.reading the paper today he will back to face vidic and co

I don't know what the 40 man squad was about! I was sure Stephen Ireland was in that squad?/ maybe he just wants to chill the beans over the summer and then we'll see him.. where's stephen reid also??

A good few names I don't know also but Liam Brady you can be sure is well aware of all of the young talent in England so could be a good experience for them!!

I saw Scannel playing for Palace looks a good player! Garvan is apparently our Stevie G! Good to see wes houlihan in the squad, always rated him! who needs Zinadine Zidane, we've got Wes Houlihan'!!

Jazz ya reckon Lee Trundle will finally get his call up, some finish the other night!!

Forget about the 40 man squad. I got mistaken I guess.
A load of players are getting a break for this trip. As Ferg said
Robbie is off on his stag and players like Given are being rested.
Reid picked up a niggle so he wont be risked.

Its a good chance to see the young players in action. Its exciting times
indeed. As for Trundle, Im shocked he is even eligible. I thought he was
a Scouser?? but yeah he's a class act, always getting himself ono Soccer AM lol

Its great for Wes as well. He played for Shelbourne for many years and then
got his break in England. Fair play to him, he's a neat little player.

Ya Trundle is a scouser and like nearly every scouser he's half Irish, he used to spend his summers in Dublin with his grand mother!

He's been trying to get into the Irish squad for quite a while, he's had an Irish pass port since his teens!

Ireland 1-1 Serbia

Republic of Ireland: Kiely, Kelly, Dunne, McShane, Delaney, Duff, Miller, Whelan, Hunt (Keogh 80), Keane (Murphy 69), Doyle (Long 86).
Subs not used: Joe Murphy, O'Shea, McPhail, Scannell, Foley, Hoolahan, Westwood, Bruce, Garvan.

Goals: Keogh 90

I guess it's not a bad result. Serbia are a decent side and to score an
injury time equaliser is very sweet indeed.
From the names above there were a few players missing for various reasons.

I'm pretty happy and it was great to see Trappers and tardelli celebrating on the
touchline. All in all a good start

O'Shea and Vidic were on the bench probably begging not to be played lol
They were probably still hungover to bits, GERRIN LADS!!!!

CMON THE IRISH!!!!!!!!!
Get in my son!!!

Ireland beat Colombia 1-0 at Craven Cottage.
Robbie got his 33rd goal for Ireland and it was a scruffy double deflection.....
like I care they ALL count!!!Woohoo

Dean Kiely was our Motm which says it all really. He was overworked against
a slick looking Colombian side who are ranked the 3rd best team in South America.

First win for Trappers and the initial signs seem positive enough. The Italian's
teams are known to battle and scrape wins, so it's a great start for him as
manager and long.

Where are the Irish boys at?
Any thoughts lads? cos I was otherwise engaged and missed the games.
So give me your analysis and impressions of the new lads in the squad.
Thanks....
