Know what you mean and your concern, mate, and your noble intention. Good reminder to all too.
It is good that we CHOOSE to be positive and optimistic. Nothing wrong with it. Perfectly normal and to be encouraged at all times.
But we also have to call a spade spade. We can't just sadly lie or 'psycho' ourselves if a performance is indeed poor or negative or showing little desire to win or contradict what we always boast about the "attractive brand of attacking football". Or sweep everything under the carpet. Or brush everything away. Or there is always the next game (conveniently). Or worst, blame the referee and luck. Let's self-examine the internal factors first instead of looking for some scapegoats to take the blame squarely (eg like poor Nani in the Chelski game - do we really think it was Nani who threw the game away for us or was it more like our not-enough conviction and/or containing approach thereafter our equaliser?) or some other external factors. Let's also face up to facts.
Fans moaning, groaning, criticising, lamenting etc do not necessarily mean that they are not true fans or they don't love their club. Just that they feel PAIN and ANGUISH too and are HONEST about their TRUE feelings and are PASSIONATE. Even if we love our kids wholeheartedly, we can't always say we are proud of whatever they do. But one thing never changes is that the LOVE never changes.
Besides, letting off some steam is more healthy than bottling it all up and venting it on some innocent party, especially someone dear in your life. [Ok, some exaggeration perhaps for most of us. Lol.]
Of course, after all the negative sentiments displayed, we still always look forward to the next game, the next season with hope and anticipation; as usual. That is only natural for any fan who loves their club faithfully.
But moanings etc will resurface undoubtedly yet again...
Part and parcel of supporting a club faithfully, wholeheartedly and............... truthfully.
