i still see hargreaves as an important player for man utd. lets not forget he was very helpful last season.
when he comes back id like to see him play as a right winger more often.. he is amazing there.
he can play at right back, right wing and he is also amazing in central midfield.
remember against chelsea how amazing he was at right wing.. he also has excellent crosses.

    Well said Hamdi!!
hargo is still a great player and will be massive when he comes back.
One of my fave players, gives 100% and is quality more often than not.

why is anyone comparing hargreaves to saha, Hargreaves has had 1 injury - tendonitis and will be out for a year or so in total since hes been here.

Saha on the other hand had multiple different injuries, and managed to rip his hamstring while passing a football to someone 5 feet away from him during a warm up.

Is/Was Ronaldo, Neville, Scholes etc etc another Saha because they got injured once?

    stupid comparison.

I believe Fergie will give him more chance to shine.....I want to see more Owen Hargreaves, he's our dead ball specialist on the close range.......

Hopefully we'll sell him at the end of the season, and unfortunately this will be up there with Veron. Aside from him never being fit, so many people overrate him. When he has been fit, his best games have come from the right side, or GAME as I should probably put it; the Champions League final. Otherwise, what has he offered us? An alternative free kick taker. Please, don't say all this "we wouldn't of won the league without his goal against Arsenal...". You could make the same argument with almost every goal.

I can't see what he offers us. Really. We signed Carrick the season before, and he did an excellent job, so why did we then go out and sign Hargreaves? Both Carrick and Scholes pass the ball better. Hargreaves is more of a ruthless and agressive player, granted, but is that sort of player nessecary anymore with the influx of foreign players, meaning a less 'English approach'...

Fletcher's shown a great improvement this season, and so has Park. I've appreciated them both a lot more than I ever thought I would. With those two, a returning Paul Scholes, the sublime Carrick, and a learning Anderson... Hargreaves' role would be...?

If we were going to add a midfielder to that list, it should be a younger Paul Scholes, with the ability to shoot, be adventerous, split a defence, in the mold of Nasri (I still don't know why we didn't offer). Or, a player in the mold of Essien or Mikel (again, big regret of mine that we didn't sign them), a pace controller of the game.

I'm all for giving players second chances, but ignoring the injuries, I don't think he was good enough to begin with.

I find it difficult to credit some of the crap in this thread.Despite playing abroad Hargo was the stand out English player in the last World Cup.I dont think he has been fully fit though since we signed him.His performance on the right in last years final was outstanding. The guys got a great attitude and not only is he versatile hes got talent to back it up. A fully fit Hargo will be a tremendous asset to us next year.
I would agree though that if he sustains another long term injury at the beginning of next season then unfortunately it wont have worked out. I dont see why he shouldnt be a great success though---Dont forget R V N had to come back from serious injury and look what a success he was.

Agreed m8 lets hope Owen gets over this knee prob now , he is a class player and if he recovers i would not want him sold in a million years it will be good to have him back along with Wes Brown .

An official Hargreaves thread is a nice touch. We shall rant ad nauseam. He shall return greater than before.

It's gonna be like having a new signing at the club next season when Hargreaves comes back.

I for one am looking forward to it.

    I love his hair.

Hargreaves is the best Stephen, plain and simple.

I cannot wait for him to return. Will add so much to our squad if we have him fit next year.
