I'd like to see him retire from international football and just concentrate on United, even if the World Cup is just around the corner, because it's not exactly helping matters. It's not as if he'd make the first team anyway, since Barry has an iron grip over that position.

IF he can get fit, it will be like a new signing. He has a lot to prove in my eyes... I just hope it's not a case of us getting our hopes up for nothing, again.

I think if he returns to fitness and form he has every chance of making the team for the World Cup, and its unfair for us United fans to expect him to deprive himself of that dream for our sake

This is great news, I'm delighted. I was hoping he would come back before January. If he gets back to full fitness and full form by the end of the season then he has every chance of making the World Cup squad, and I really hope he does.

You're right, but I'm also thinking of all the international games between now and the WC, and then I think of Saha, and how he got injured a couple of times while away on international duty.

I can't see Hargo linking up with the England squad until at least next year. Fergie wont allow him to be risked if he isn't up to full fitness

Yeah maybe so, sorry I thought you meant to miss the World Cup altogether.

A thing to consider is that I doubt Capello would let somebody miss all the qualifiers, the time when squads become teams, and then come to the World Cup.

Yeah me too. We really missed him last season. I think we will look a hell of a lot stronger in mid-field with him pulling the strings. It'll also be better for the likes of Anderson who will be allowed a lot more freedom knowing Hargo is behind him to protect.

is this why fergie says he isnt buying any more players ?

Can't find the injury thread so i'll post this here.

    SAF talking about Hargreaves

“He won’t be playing,(tomorrow)” Ferguson said. “He’s still in America, actually. We were hoping he’d join us here but he’s still undergoing his rehabilitation. Remember, it was a major operation in both knees. He’ll come back once he’s fully fit but we won’t be rushing him.”

Yet another setback , is it just me or does anybody else think he will never be the same again.
I wish fergie had spent some of the squillions of pounds we have in the bank on a quality midfield player

If he was younger then yes, But I don't know I mean he 28 nearly 29 now isn't he? I am worried we might never see his true potential at Utd. I hope I am wrong though. But seriously it will be difficult to get back to your best after 2 major knee operations.

I read a really interesting article from a Sports Physio about Hargos injury and treatment. Apparently one of the key elements to a successful outcome is resting time post op. He was suggesting that January would be a realistic time for his return and was surprised that people were talking about September and October. He also reckoned that given that amount of time the op should be 100% successful and that if it wasnt then Hargo would be unlikely to play again. Cant remember where I read it or I would supply a link.

Hargo comeback will be awesome for us and i'm sure he'll be back by october and will be ready to smash scousers.
