Even if Hargraves returns to fitness the issue still exists. We don't have complete faith that Fletcher or Anderson are ready for Champions League now. We need another midfield who can get on the ball and make things happen. I would love that player to be Rooney one day.

He's been to the best clinic in the world(they've repaired 60,000 knees). Previously kept himself in brillant shape, seems to be working incredibly hard. Not rushed himself. The guy has given himself every chance to make it back.

I'm confident he will and the knee will hold up. I really do hope he does, he's been a lose this season and the reason the league hasn't been wrapped up. We need him.

As for replacements if the worst happens, it seems there isn't much out there is there. Jean Makoun maybe? He could be another possiblity.

As for Anderson..not getting enough of him in the first team squad might be a good excuse to why the faith is just not there yet and of course, still waiting for him to score us a goal seeing he is suppose to be our attacking mid.

If I don't remember wrongly, I can't recall Hargreaves receiving much adolation here, at least not from the majority. We can probably recall some debates about Hargreaves. And as things are not turning out as great as we hope for, suddenly, lo and behold, we somehow start looking to him as our plausible hero and saviour.

Anyway, no big issue as long as he gets fit and indeed makes us better.

    Fergie - Owen feeling good

United manager quashes fears over midfielder's recovery....

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has soothed fears over Owen Hargreaves' long-term fitness.

Hargreaves is currently undergoing his rehabilitation after surgery on both of his knees to fix a long-standing problem.

The England international originally had an operation last autumn after making just three appearances for United during the early weeks of the season.

He subsequently underwent a second bout of surgery in January and is now back at United's Carrington training ground to continue his recovery.

However, there have been reports that the most recent operation has not been a complete success and it had placed a question mark over Hargreaves being fit for the start of the next campaign.

Ferguson has moved to quash the rumours and believes the 28-year-old is on course to be back in the Premier League leaders' plans over the summer.

The United chief said in the Daily Mail: "His operations have gone perfectly well, he's feeling good."

I have a feeling that we'll see another Hargo when he returns. I would dare to compare Ronaldo's situation when he was seriously injured almost a season or even more, i can't remember exactly. I'm sure Hargo will be fine in the future. He's a fighter and i'm sure he'll regain a spot in the first team.

I think if he takes his time & does not return even a day before he is fully fit he'll be our saviour.

The important thing will be handling him with cotton gloves for the first few months of next season.

In fact even pre season, he should be used very sparingly. Substitute appearance for a long period.

Well I'm glad this should cure him of his terrible tendonitis problem but we have missed him so far and will still miss him until he's back at least he own't be too old and will have plenty of time to become a United great when he's back because when he's fit he's arguably (bu not imo) our best CM
