Tevez for 30m, no thanks
Berbatov is a waste of space
Ronaldo is quickly losing value as each season passes, so I think we should cash in tbh[/QU
How is Berbatov a waste of space?? because he hasnt scored 25 goals like he did at Spurs and Ronaldo is still the best player in the world so why would we want to cash in one of our main assets!!
VDS; Rafael, Vidic, Rio, Evra; Ronaldo, Hargreaves, Possebon (yes, you
correctly), Nani (we know he has the talent, games will give him consistency);
Rooney, Macheda (long shot, I know).
-----Van Der Sar
Rafael---Vidic--Ferdinand--Evra
Hargreaves-Anderson--Carrick-Ronaldo
-------------Rooney
---------------Berbatov/Welbeck/Macheda.

Two Hargreaves![]()
Okay, I reckon this Summer, given what we won and what we nearly won this season, would be around £40m (we spent £60m after 06/07 so that is realistic) so I will use that as a starting base.
Then there are two scenarios to work with, if Ronaldo stays, and if Ronaldo goes.
If Ronaldo stays, I would also sell Nani, Campbell, Manucho and Simpson which should raise about a further £15m. Giving us £55m to spend on new players. I would be looking to sign a left winger and a striker as they are the positions we most need players. It is true we also lack creativity in midfield, but I feel with Rooney roaming off a proper striker that problem will lessen.
So on the wing, who is available? Well I'd be looking towards Ashley Young, who'd cost probably about £25m I'd imagine, David Silva, who'd probably cost around £20m, or Antonio Valencia, who'd probably cost around £15m. Given that Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Liverpool are all likely to make a move for Silva, I'd say he is less likely to come. And given that Valencia is much more comfortable on the right than the left, I'd say Young is the best option.
So that would leave £30m to spend on strikers. So who could be on the market? Well with Lyon finishing 3rd in France, it is strongly rumoured that Karim Benzema is going to be available for £30m, and he would certainly fit perfectly into our team. However, I have my reservations about moving for him, as at his young age it is likely he would starve the route to the team for the likes of Welbeck and Macheda for too long so I'm not sure about that one. Then there is David Villa from Valencia, who will be sold at the end of the season, but the question there is will Madrid or Barcelona move for him? If they do, he will choose them over us. If Barcelona do move for him, Eto'o will be allowed to move on and he could be another potential target. Also at Barcelona, there is Thierry Henry who could be allowed to move on if they decide to search for a younger player like Ribery or Silva, he is still top class but the question is how long could his pace last? For me, David Villa would be perfect, but obviously it is subjective whether we could get him, so I'll put a * by his name but any of the mentioned targets would be great.
Team for 09/10 if Ronaldo stays:
----------Rooney-----Villa*
Young----Carrick----Hargreaves----Ronaldo
Evra-------Vidic------Ferdinand----Rafael
--------------Van Der Sar
Out: Tevez, Campbell, Nani, Simpson, Manucho
In: Young, Villa*
Then there is the second scenario, Ronaldo leaves. It is really unknown whether he will so I have to include it as a possiblity. I reckon if he did it would be for around £70m, which added to the already £40m budget would leave £110m. Then, I would also sell Nani, Anderson, Campbell, Manucho and Simpson which should raise about a further £20m - leaving £130m to spend.
So we need need real quality to replace Ronaldo and I'd start by bringing in Franck Ribery from Bayern, who is just class and is perfect for us, and I reckon he'd cost about £50m. We would still need another winger, who if Ribery was in the team would play on the right, so I'd probably go for Valencia with him, who is productive and hardworking yet still a rough diamond, but can dribble at pace and make good passes. He'd probably cost around £15m. Then, with Anderson gone and Scholes and Giggs unlikely to feature much, we would need a new creative midfielder, although I do expect to see more of Gibson. I'd go for Luka Modric from Tottenham who I think is one of the top playmakers in Europe and would play well here. He'd probably cost about £20m. Then with the remaining money, as I mentioned in the other scenario I would hopefully go for Villa but it is subjective.
Team if Ronaldo goes:
----------Rooney-----Villa*
Ribery----Modric----Hargreaves----Valencia
Evra-------Vidic------Ferdinand----Rafael
--------------Van Der Sar
Out: Ronaldo, Tevez, Nani, Anderson, Manucho, Campbell, Simpson
In: Ribery, Valencia, Modric, Villa*
Hold on, I never said I would like to see Ronaldo or Tevez leave (Berba can), I just think if we did sell Ronaldo and didn't buy Tevez it would free up the cash for Benzema and Ribery.
Also, I do agree it's unlikely that we will get Ribery considering the amount of money Bayern are looking for.... plus hes not even worth it at 100m.
Whether we get Benzema or not all depends if we stump up the money though...
I would love to see both Ronaldo and Tevez stay as long as they are happy at the club.
oh ffs, people complain he's lazy (ala - YOU) and then he drops deeper, tackles back, and even defends quite a bit, so then other people whinge he's playing too deep! it's people like you who have caused him to go so deep, ALSO, he has more successful tackles and interceptions than tevez or the other "non lazy" types (by that I mean the peoplw you retards think aren't lazy because they run around a lot - PS this isn't aimed at tevez, i want him to stay) not to mention passes!

you know it , fergie will persist and will make sure he has a good year this coming season.
i have to laugh at people who just automatically assume that ribery and benzema will come to united at the drop of a hat , i think barca ,real ac inter etc might have a say in it yet
