Exactly i don't see where people are getting this idea that we need a major face lift and need 3-5 world class players coming in as that doesn't always work anyway we already have a good side with few areas that need to improve the only major ones for me are the wing and a striker to constantly put the ball in the net!

we already have a great squad who are all a good age and have the perfect blend of youth and experience we've won the league the last three seasons and got to two champions league finals in tow seasons so we are obviously doing something right!i also believe Nani and Anderson will also really improve next season also

so for me we need maybe 2 players at max and even if we sign nobody we still have a great side and a great squad that will challenge for trophy's at home and abroad while playing good football so what more could anybody want?

Great quality, great depth, youth and experience.

Just need a striker who wants to play as a striker and score goals (not drop deep like Berbatov/Tevez did), allow rooney to be the heart of the team and able to drop in midfield if needs be and to play where he likes to and dictate.
Add a winger with more to his game than Park like skill and goals who wont cost a fortune. Obviosly id prefer Young or Ribery, but i do think Valencia would be a good signing if cheap enough.

At some point you have to bite the bullet and work some young players into the regular starting XI to really assess what they're capable of - Macheda, Wellbeck? Certainly Anderson...

Rio's always going to be a question mark, now that his back problems have become chronic. Evans is a very able replacement...

And why have so many of you got Ronny in your line-ups? If he doesn't sign a new contract within the next 60 days, financial prudence would dictate that we have to sell him. I, for one, wouldn't be overly upset to see him go...

...then getting Ribery and/or Benzema and/or Valencia starts to make sense.

I suggested that last season would be one of transition - out with the old, in with the new - I was wrong. But perhaps, I was just off by a year.

You definately got this one right as much as possible without seeing who was coming in or out.

Ronaldo is gone and while he was here, most of us did not even consider getting ribery and benzema and now all of a sudden, its like they are the two everyone wants for us to replace ronaldo with.

So props where its due, you did well.

I still don't see us getting both to be honest lol.

But who knows, we'll make a statement im sure of some sorts with us having so much money now. Also we won't get all that 80 million to put back into the team plus whatever other money we had in the kitty, i would very much doubt that'd ever happen. Especially as we still owe money for previous transfers and we're in debt. Fergie will be given money to find a replacement, more than enough but he won't be given all of the 80 million IMO.

Anyway, now that Ronaldo has left we need a new, quality winger. Obviously someone like Ribery would be an absolute dream and I'd be on cloud 9 if we could get him, but I'm not sure how realistic that would be because of the price we'd be willing to pay and the conflicting reports we seem to get about him. I'd be reasonably happy with Valencia, but he isn't really THE replacement.

I think we also need to look at the goalkeeper's position as I said in the summer changes thread in Transfer Talk, as Edwin isn't getting any younger and we should look into someone else. We also need a striker to be signed permanently, beit Tevez or someone else.

Apart from that though we're fine everyone else atm, imo.
