i bet our first official goal of the season will be struck by Rooney

Rooney 21-26 only if he played as a striker and 17-21 if he played in mixed positions
    Ronaldo 24 + and thats a fact
Berbatov 16-22 he will have a better season for sure but i don't think he will score as much as he did with Tottenham

Wasn't this more like friendly game?
I don't think we should count Nani's goal as the first official goal for the season.
There are no official games with 5 subs

I bet on Giggs to score the first one

Didn't Nani assist Rooney? Or does the fact that Rooney scored from a rebound off his own header mean Nani didn't?

Link to the official site stats?

I still think he should get it. If Nani doesn't cross, Rooney doesn't score. Simple.

You might need to log on to see it but they don't credit Nani with the assist.
Yes he crossed it but Rooney didn't score directly from that cross.
He basically assisted himself, though it obviously doesn't count.
