Well said mate , thats twice you have agreed with me.
I have to put the record straight here.
Firstly i have nothing but the utmost respect for fergie , although i was one of the fergie out brigade after his first 5 years in charge.
secondly why do i have to be totally happy with everything that goes on with united .
They treat me very badly as a season ticket holder and travelling away supporter , they have just banked 80 million and put my season ticket price up , why didnt the tossers have a price freeze like most of the premier league.
With the automatic cup scheme it costs me way over a grand a year to follow the reds , so why cant i have a fuc#ing whinge nowand again its my right .
Not every thing fergie does is right he does mess up now and again afterall he is human , he is moaning about the prices being high , well who raised the bar united did by accepting 80 million they were not moaning then.
I am fed up with some assholes on this forum who call people "plastic" and such like because they dare to disagree , listen carefully FOOTBALL IS A GAME OF OPINIONS , some you will like some you wont so just beg to differ

I'd give it to Owen, that kind of honour could inspire him to some really good form here. Plus maybe when he passes it on in a couple of years someone like Macheda, Welbeck, even Ljajic will be ready to carry the torch.

I think you are the first person to have said that. Signing Owen is one thing but giving him the sacred 7 shirt? Im not so sure. Id give it to Valencia or whichever other winger we may sign.

I agree with Jazz. Although I, like most on this forum, have warmed to the signing of Owen, I think giving him the "sacred" number 7 shirt would not fit in with the history of the shirt. That shirt historically is reserved for those who have that something extra special about them; Best - outrageous skill, Cantona - supreme confidence, Becks - always coming up witht he big play when needed, Ronaldo - dazzling footwork, etc.

Does Owen have that ethos required to wear the number 7 shirt, I'm not sure. He may have when he was in his prime, but he is not coming here to be that team icon, he is coming here to be a squad player who will mostly come off the bench (I'm not degrading that role, but you can see my point). Valencia may, but that is also debatable.

Can be earlier. If he is ever allocated the #7, I will be here waiting humbly for your backlash.

Players and staff and see their profile. In order first two is Obertan and Valencia with O. Starting by VDR see number 7 is Owen.

look, for those who don't want it, sorry but get over it, it was in the press conference, and on SSN, he will wear number 7, and those are training tops, they don't wear their squad numbers, they're just tops, Anderson has been seen in 14, 7,11, many, doesn't make a difference, on his debut Owen will pull on the no.7 shirt
