It could work though. Thing is, neither Rooney or Berbatov like putting the ball into the net. Owen does, so could make our own fearsome threesome to match Real Madrids.. Berba Rooney and Owen.. *cough*

In its own peculiar way it might just work , but i will be surprised if all three play.
i assume owen will be the bench boy to start

i think tevez will sign a contract with man utd. the little merda always does things late in the window, like the corinthians, the west ham and man utd move.. all happened late in the season. Owen may just be a trainer for Welbeck and Rooney to put balls into the net. Or maybe M Owen is a smoke screen...? Surely Fergie can't have fallen for his brochure..

I'm actually glad that we are not signing any big name strikers. This will allow Rooney to play as striker on a permanent basis for Utd, instead of being pushed onto the wings to accomodate for a big name.

I however feel that we do require another striker, maybe a young one with lots of potential or an older one who is also prepared to sit on the bench and make a few substitute appearances.

I fully expect both Nani and Valencia to contribute to our goal overhaul next season, for this reason i am not too concerned about losing Ronaldo's goals.

Owen is the perfect short-term solution. Its a win-win for everyone concerned. Rooney & berbatov can work on their partnership, while owen can be back-up. if he stays injury free, he can get his 1 in 2 ratio that he needs to get back in the england team. If he does well, he could stay for a year or 2 more. But if injuries carry on, then this leaves sir alex with a year to pick a striker carefully & not panick buy.
