    type of 3rd choice striker?
who would want to be a third choice striker at man utd? this is the problem, they all want starting spots.. benzema tevez villa and who ever need starting spots, something we dont have to offer by principle and philosophy unless u work hard for it. tevez worked hard enough to win himself a deal at united, but doesnt want to commit because he wants to play as the main-man not as a subsidary within a team game.

so i wonder and wonder who we will get, if anyone at all..?

Campbell hasn't gone anywhere, could he be our supersub?. Will we go "the United way" and "trust in youth" all along to striker positions 4 and 5.

but the point i wanted to make is that every topboy striker wants a starting spot or gurantee of regular playing time. we're stuffed, we'll get no one i tell ya other than Valencia for the wing. MachWel are regular first team players now. during the next season there will come a point when during a big match fergie needs to make a tactical decision for upfront positions, but doesn't do anything because he doesnt trust that much in youth. then he will be called a tactical flop and be demonised in the media.

So, who wants the 3rd spot then?. Benzema - unlikely.

how do you come to the conclusion that welbeck and macheda are first team regulars now , they have shown a little promise and hopefully they will be given opportunities this coming season but fergie won't give them lots of gametime .
these young players will get more gametime if utd find a top class striker who does the business and scores a lot for utd , then if utd can get a 2/3 goal lead fergie will give the young uns 20 minute stints to prove their worth .utd will get a striker before the season starts they have got good money in hand .

i dont think the position will be advertised as a 3rd choice though. as long as the squad rotation is sold it wouldnt mater who came in

We played over 50 games last season so iin this day and age there is no real third choice or any of that you're part of the quad how often did Fergie pick the same team constantly without making a change? Not very often if at all!whoever is brought in will be given enough game time to impress and if they do impress they will be given the same or around the same as Rooney and Berbatov

You can't have 3 or 4 top class strikers anymore.

we dont need a third striker, as i saw last season it's a good idea for using the 4-5-1 formation with only berbatov as a lone striker...but we dont know what saf is up to...benzema, aguero, marcus berg, nilmar(who)...if one of this striker sign for us, it's only make saf life harder and we could see the departure of berbatov next season..

Every one from the roumored players dosn't matter how good is he will make the team stronger.
So nobody is competition to the Berbatov or to Rooney . The load will be splitted .
I have no reason to think that Berbatov will go into the same way as Tevez.

Wellbeck and macheda can give us decent cover at that position, the fact is we have to give those guys a shot to prove themselves and gain some first team experience, and why not know.

3rd striker would give Campbell a chance and if Mach and Welbeck are good enuf then we don't need 2 sign any1.It's down to Fergie plus I have my objections abt Benzema.....He also has dreams of Spain and 2 years down the line when Raul comes nearby retirement Benzema and the whole tom-tom media circus will start again no-no for a 3rd striker any new high profile striker would reduce Berba game time

So, we've got no 3rd striker now in the mould of superstar. Well isn't that just great!. reports have us talking to Alexis Sanchez of Udinese (sticking point is they ask for £20 gbp)... muppets think we're real madrid.

It could work though. Thing is, neither Rooney or Berbatov like putting the ball into the net. Owen does, so could make our own fearsome threesome to match Real Madrids.. Berba Rooney and Owen.. *cough*
