As for him performing, Ronaldo performed in it. He got a lot of beating, but he performed. Messi is a game solver, he creates chances out of nowhere, either with breakaways or with very acurate passing. In the hands of a master like Sir Alex, I cannot imagine to what heights Messi could go...
