Just added our players out on loan to this thread that thus effectively represents players not with us for various reasons. The combined summary is in post #1.

Quizzed on the situation of his brother, Fabio stated, "He is recovering from an injury in his right shoulder. The curious thing is that I had the same thing last year which left me out of the team for a long time. We are twins even when it comes to getting hurt."

but physio room says rafael has ankle injury!

anyone having concrete information on this?

Hmm... Nothing else mentioned about him anywhere. Let's wait a while to see what happens. Maybe he is already up and running?

    Oh good.

But he seems to be only 5th in the pecking order unless of course if Fergie wants to utilisie him on the wings or when injuries or suspensions kicked in.

Ferdinand will have a scan on the thigh injury which he picked up in training and threatens his involvement in England's crunch World Cup qualifier against Croatia on September 9.

Ferguson added: "Ferdinand will be out for two weeks - the next two or three games I would think.

"Vidic is training so, hopefully, we'll have him back for next Saturday at Wigan.

"Jonny Evans is injured again, Gary Neville has just resumed training and Rafa da Silva is still out with a dislocated shoulder

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is undergoing a scan today on the thigh injury that kept him out of yesterday's league opener against Birmingham.

The 30-year-old is expected to be out of action for two weeks, which would see him miss the upcoming games against Burnley and Wigan.

Irish international John O'Shea is expected to take over as captain in his absence.

Ferdinand joins a lengthy injury list at Old Trafford, with Edwin van der Sar, Gary Neville, Rafael, Jonny Evans and Owen Hargreaves all receiving treatment.

Nemanja Vidic, however, is back in training.

Rio Ferdinand to miss Arsenal clash as thigh injury sidelines Manchester United defender | Mail Online

Rio Ferdinand is out for at least another two weeks after hospital scans on his thigh injury.

The Manchester United and England centre-back missed United’s opening game, their 1-0 win against Birmingham at Old Trafford.

Monday's medical report means Ferdinand will be sidelined for Wednesday’s trip to Burnley, along with the games against Wigan and Arsenal at home.

The defender is also now a doubt for England’s World Cup qualifier next month against Croatia.
    Rio Ferdinand

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said on his defensive crisis: 'Jonny Evans is injured again, Gary Neville has only just started training, and Rafael da Silva is still missing with his dislocated shoulder.

'But Nemanja Vidic is back in training and should be back on Saturday.'

Versa- Should you add Diouf and Ljajic to the loan watch thread?

-Drinkwater played 20 minutes against the Saints in a 3-1. His free kick led to a goal.

-Possebon came on as a sub in the 34th minute against IF Elfsborg in the UEFA Europa League third round. Braga lost 2-0. Not sure how he played. Maybe Sporting can enlighten us?

-Heaton was an unused sub. They started with Radek Cerny (ex-Spurs) in goal. He will have a tough time getting the no.1 jersey. I don't see the point of loaning him if he's going to sit on the bench.

    -Simpson didn't play.
