Looking at the rankings above. If they were then worked out in proportion to capacity, we would be bottom. Smaller ground producing greater noise. But it aint about the amount of noise we produce, no good making lots of sound if its misdirected and the players are not feeding off with obvious effects (Barca semi is classic example of us being 12th man)
The other problem is at crucial times when support is needed the most, eg last 10 mins of a game, a large number of fans are leaving early to try and beat the traffic. But answer me this, would you pay for a three course meal and then go before dessert. Would you go to a Madonna concert and leave 3 songs from the end? £45 for ticket equates to 50p per minute. Leaving in the 80th minute as many fans were on Wednesday and have done in other day 3pm ko games means your giving up on £5 worth of football or over a PL season missing out on two games worth of football.
These people will have missed Macheda vs Villa, Owen vs City, Ferdinand, Saturday and they are what I go to a game for. To sit back in years to come, read and re-live the scenes and then think I WAS THERE, not sat in my car driving past Trafford Centre thinking "I am gonna get home 20 mins earlier". United have ticket holders not supporters
