Great thread Pher, its nice to have a thread including extracts from the player itself
Also nice to see fans on here giving recognition for his recent good form, and general improvement this season
Kuszczak seems like a nice guy, helps out at charities too by the looks of it
What a guy. Gets his head down and gets stuck in. Love the photos of him too. Wish him all the best.
no problem, I'll try to post regularely![]()
I have never been a fan of him, but he has impressed me with his recent form.
"I am having my moment in Manchester and I think, that I didn't dissapoint the coach. I haven't earier any occasion to play few matches in a row and to have a match - routine. In professional sport, you won't know what can player do, unless you don't give him a chance. I don't know when Edwin will be back. He's giving me priceless tips right now. I have never been so close to be nr 1 in MU, because I haven't so many occasions to play yet. But before that moment will come, I want to play as much as it is possible, and as good that coach could come and tell me: "Tomek (Tommy), it's your time". Football and Manchester United is whole my life. In each training I try to work on that, what will be tomorrow. I am an optimist, I know it will be good."
I'm liking is confidence, he seems to be thriving at the moment. I'm still not convinced he can take no.1 spot but he's already proved me wrong before now
yeah hope he can continue in this form we can be very confident with him and all the small mistakes look to be gone from his game.
I wouldn't say his mistakes are gone but he is getting better and better, he could surprise us all yet, but I'm not holding my breath. If we go for Neuer or Akinfeev I'll be dancing round the place!!!!
He's one of the best shot stoppers in the league, but he still needs to become more decisive and braver when it comes to corners. Fair play though, he's making the most of his appearances and saving our ass at least twice in every game.
Pher- I thought he didn't get on at all with Edwin. What do you know about that?
I think he is very ambitious, and he had to prove something during his whole career. In Polish national team he had to prove that he's better than Boruc, Fabiański, Kowalewski or Dudek. It looks like when Franciszek "Franz" Smuda became a Polish NT coach, he finally is nr 1 in Poland. He used to be number two during his whole career, so that's why he said once that Edwin doesn't help him. After that, VDS has got an injury and now, after playing few matches in a row Tomek says that Edwin helps him with some priceless tips. I think it is so because he really wants to be number one, and I think that the truth is that Tomasz has a lot of respect for Edwin. If I remember correctly in one of his interviews he said that he used to be his fan, but now he is his rival. Edwin is a great goalie, but Tomasz doesn't want to be nr 2 anymore.
"We don't talk (with SAF) before the matches. We doesn't have any motivational conversations. Simply, I have a job and I have to do well - don't let anyone to score a goal. I always wanted to have a chance like that, I was telling that I want to play. I hope that my performances will prove our coach, that I can be number one in Manchester United for many years. That's my aim and I think I am on the good way. I hope that my coach thinks the same as I do.
Sir Alex don't analyse my perfomances with me. He doesn't commend me and doesn't reprimand after matches, he doesn't show me what I did well and what wrong. But if he lets me be in the first lineup, I don't ask him if he is happy about my last match. If he wouldn't I would never have a chance to play. That's easy."
Kuszczak before Foster anyday of the week
Ps. when people call him pig is it pole in goal?
"About playing every three days:
It is fun for the player, for sure because he's got a chance to play often with the best. But you don't cheat your organism, sometimes you have to take a rest and slow down. I played ten matches in more than five weeks. So you see that we don't have a time to take a single breath. I don't even know a goalkeeper who could play in every single league or cup match staying in great form.
About Ben Foster:
We know each other with Ben very well. You won't find any conflict in our relationship. In the training I shoot to his goal, he to mine. We're doing exercises with each other, sometimes we talk about our families. It all looks very fair. Ben is a young person, but he knows what he wants to achieve. He's got an aim, just like me. OK, there couldn't be two goalies in the lineup, but there's nothing wrong between us. We do respect each other."
