Richard Eckersley- Going to Tribunal and the possibility of new cases.
United couldn't agree a compensation fee for him with burnley, so now it's going to be decided by the Premier League tribunal people.
United apparently want 1m for him which says alot of how much united rated him. End of day this is a compensation fee not a transfer fee, so united probably rate him a bit more than that. Burnley on the other hand are said to have offered 250k which is a joke really.
Eckersley has only featured in 2 league cup games so far and very rarely makes the bench.
Does anyone else think burnley arnt playing him because it could possibly raise his value when it comes to tribunal?
We also have alot of talent in our acedamy and players out on loan who are "apparently" out of contract this summer. So....
Does anyone else think cases like this could happen more often with the added competition for places at united nowadays?
The potential of our talents is unpredictable at times (example, Cleverley) and players develop at different times and rates. So i'm abit anxious that a future star "could" slip through the net.

Interesting points raised in that post mate. In particular the point with regards to players contracts "apparently" being up in the summer. I presume by these players you mean the likes of Tom Cleverley and Craig Cathcart.
I would be absolutely gutted if we were to loose Tom on a free. He has real potential and I fully believe he is worth minimum 5 million at the moment.

Cleverley going to a tribunal would be seriously disappointing. But saying that i think it's fair to say that his value is noticable and at the worse we should get 2-3m. Hopefully it will not come to that.
But like i said it does deeper than him.... Brandy, Simpson, Gray, Cathcart, Hewson and Chester are in the same boat. They may not be future world beaters, but we may lose a star in the next batch in the following year, or the year after.
I have a gutt feeling we may lose out on someone big.

Bloody bold text, i hate it; distracts me from the main points being made by the article.. a simple bulletpoint is mor than enough to make a point me auld boy..

Fergie claimed in an interview that he was certain that Eckersley would become a future England International. Funny how he barely plays for Burnley. We could do with him now, very versatile.

I find it funny he moved to get first team action
If you think about it, Manchester United have always done a marvellous job of handling youth players. The only good player they let loose was Pique. Rossie and Savage are decent players too.

Cleverley won't go anywhere, OIe has said Fergie is closely monitoring him and there has been nothing but glowing praise, at times carries Watford

Have to wonder though, if fergie believed in his potential then why let his contract run out.

But saying that, perhaps fergie test his players on loyalty.
