Did anyone see Campbell win the
penalty for Hull last night ?

He is as strong as an ox !! The
guy was trying to pull him over
and spin him off the ball at the
same time - and Campbell forced
his way past him, just going down
at the last second !! Finally he
did lose his balance but it took a
huge effort to stop him.

He has had some brilliant finishing
too with a few of the goals he has
scored for Hull ...

One to watch ... for sure ...

I don't remember any strikers
coming through the academy
with United ...

RedForceRising will become famous soon enough
Mark Hughes is the last striker worth mentioning to come through the academy.

The current coaching staff have very high hopes for Denny Wellbeck though and the boy certainly looks promising. His goal against Newcastle in the reserves was particularly nice.

Like other posters here have mentioned, I hope Campbell and me will be given a chancy by Fergie on a regular basis to develop. Especially next season when a manager can name 7 substitutes on the bench instead of the current 5.

It would allow Fergie to include some of the younger players and if you are cruising against the opposition give the young players a chance to strut their stuff.

Why cant we produce a top striker?? There's been guys to look up to during the last 10 years or so. Cantona, Ole, Yorke, Cole and Ruud to name a few. Is the demands too high on our strikers??

personlly i couldn't see us buying a new striker in after manucho
thats not the way fergie goes about his bussiness he like to give what hes got a chance

mark hughes is the only striker that has come thru the ranks and made a big impression at utd in the last 25 years.
whiteside and scholes also came thru but both of these were moved into midfield ,its a little sad really that such a big club cannot produce a top quality striker from our own acadamy.i can't wait for the day when the next utd made striker comes thru and conquers just like sparky did all those years ago.
