Nah disagree pal, fergie is too wily a manager to let Scholesy go - the great player doesnt age overnight. He may not play 3 times a week but Scholesy is still the best midfielder in Britain and if anything he is refining his game in his advancing years- his tackling is much crisper and although offensively he may not be the force he was in terms of ghosting into the box his defensive qualiites , his passing and as we saw tonight his (one!) eye for goal is still as good as ever.

Scholesy has been and always will be a legend in the theatre of dreams

What a team performance. I am mentally exhausted but completely overwhelmed
that we won tonight. The likes of Tevez, Wes, Park, Rio, Evra, Hargo were
immense tonight, and a special mention to the Ginger Prince who's beauty
of a goal proved to be the vital moment in what was an absorbing game.

I was nervous as hell all the way through but the team played
like tigers and terriers, and colossus' of huge proportions.
Only our 3rd European Cup final ever and on the 50th anniversary of the Munich
Disaster, its fate that will make us victorious in Moscow.
and 40 years since that famous triumph in 1968 with Busby and his boys.

Scholes goal of course was critical, but the play of erva and the pressure tevez put on them, to me was the difference.nani was well like last game not working well with others and holding onto the ball to long, tricks are great but goal scoring chances are worth more.I am so happy that we won, but Im noticing that we are not control mid-field play and are not counter attacking like in the middle of the season? I hope tevez and rooney can still develop together they are great working off one another with ronaldo. WE MUST START TO PEAK!

My player ratings are

1 VDS 6 solid commanding and courageous as ver in the penalty area but wtf is going on with goal kicks?
hargo 8 Excellent in what is an unfamiliar position. Versatile and technically sound who ,schooled in German football, does n ot give the ball away cheaply
evra 8 superb as always. A real handful offensively , sound defensively, to think he was written off early in his utd career.a fantastic player plain and simple
Brown 8 Simply a colossus at the back. The ball was a magnet for his head and he rose to the occasion in what is his more natural position.
Ferdinand 8 Mr reliable all season and he let nobody down again tonight. marshalled the back 4 well. Priceless imho

Nani 5 very much a raw talent who needs to play for the team not himself. he'll learn though
Carrick 5 I'm afraid the last few games have shown this Geordie up at the ighest level. Anonymous tonight as on saturday
Scholes 8 indispensable to MUFC. an authentic great player who capped his performance over the 2 legs with a trademark finish
park 8 His dynamism and industry is just breathtaking at times.the most underrated player at OT who's attitude is second only to ....

Tevez 8: Its an absolute pleasure to be associated with supporting a club with Carlito playing in it. his grafting and general play in leading the line was a joy to behold.

Ronaldo 6.5 Okay i suppose but when will people start to realise that to be the best player in the world you need to be influential in games like this one.ronny as usual in the big games was peripheral for large parts of this game only to produce sporadic touches.messi in contrast gave a masterclass in how to strike fear into defenders. h e was a constant threat and if there is one player in the world we should go after in the summer its him.

^^^Spot on with your ratings Ferg, except Id give Wes and Tevez a 9 instead.
I was a disappointed with Carrick and Nani but the rest of the lads were amazing.
Ronaldo could have done better too, but I guess he's keeping that for the final.
Anyway, Id rather focus on the positives and the team as a whole were awesome.
Fergie got it spot on as well.

^^^agree with your ratings ferg, if tevez scored a goal i would give him a 9 or 10 for the amount of work he put into that performance. Ronaldo was quite, no doubt but he was not terrible either and has been quite good against the big teams recently, played more of a team performance today like the rest of united.

Messi was great, nobody has anychance of buying him imo. He plays for a great team to ain all fairness, the movement with and off the ball of barcelona is quality.

Now we are into the final, no complaints really! I dont think nani is selfish, just naive at the moment with his young age and lack of experience. He has alot of assists this season.

pz!

thanks ogie i am not being overly harsh on Ronaldo - in fact as you say he showed another side to his repertoire tonight- grafting, tracking back clearing header- if anything he epitomised united tonight in showing true braveheart qualities.

Lets all look forward to moscow or more pertinently west ham on saturday!!!!
