PL MD36: Chelsea v Manchester United

With only 3 points separating the top 2 and with just 3 games to go for both, it is a match of unparalleled significance to the title race to say the least. Our remaining games thereafter are certainly more tricky than Chelski's Newcastle (A) and Bolton (H) as compared to our West Ham (H) and Wigan (A). Did I say West Ham, one of the very few bogey teams we always struggle to overcome for some strange reason(s)?

I feel we do need to go there, not with a loser's mentality to avoid defeat, but to attempt to break their unbeaten home game record and thus spirit, and clinch the title there and then. How sweet that would be and how deep the wound could be. And should there be any team capable of doing the honours, it must be us, after proudly stopping Arsenal's 49-game unbeaten run right in its track and causing so much psychological damage that they have yet to recover fully from till today.

And we can then focus fully on the CL with this confidence booster, en route to the magical Double.

"Follow, follow, follow..."

It will not be simple. We should beat Chelsea and West Ham. I think that we shall become champions...

Im saying it will either be a BORING dull 0-0 or an exciting 3-3

Im going to say a draw i would be perfectly happy with that.

Permutations are easy enough really. If we beat them the title is ours,
if we draw the title should be ours and if we lose it will be some serious
squeeky bum time in store for us all.

Id have to disagree that our remaining fixtures are tougher.
Chelsea have Newcastle away, who are really finding some form and
will be hard to overcome.
I personally believe we will give West Ham the pasting of a lifetime,
for a variety of reasons.
1.They have the most ridiculous amount of injuries.
2.Their form has been shocking, and they barely scraped past Derby there.
3.We owe them big time for beating us the last 3 times.
4.We also still owe them for not whooping them in '95 (still dont know how Cole
didnt score about 5 that day)
5.Its in Old Trafford.
6.Its a lot more important to us than it is to them.
7.They are testing out a load of young new players.

Believe me we will beat West Ham.....

but back to Chelsea, its a mammoth game and all I care about is avoiding
defeat at all costs.
Personally I think we could beat them and end their record.
That would be sweet.

I agree, i feel Fergie is DETERMINED to End chelseas home Record.. And i reckon we can do it..... We just need a good midfield.. i reckon we can break chelsea down by playing 4-5-1.. Normal goalie and back four.... Anderson, Carrick, and Hargreaves in midfield along with
Ronaldo and Nani ( even though he will prob play giggs) With Rooney upfront...

What dyou guys think?

strongly disagree that chelsea have an easier run in :S bolton fighting for their lives and an in form newcastle away ? whilst we have to midd-table sides wo couldnt care by that point ... the most important games are in the next week with barca away if we can score there we can go through for sure and if we dont lose at stamford bridge we will be able to retain the title

Ferguson: Let's Take It To The Bridge

Source: Goal.com

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has called on his side to completely kill off all Chelsea's remaining hopes of winning the Premiership title by beating them in their own backyard next weekend.

United are three points ahead of their rivals after Carlos Tevez's late equaliser claimed a 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers. However, such is their superior goal difference they can see the finishing line following a dramatic match at Ewood Park.

Sir Alex is well aware of the Sky Blues' outstanding home record, yet is confident that his team will be celebrating the defense of their title at Stamford Bridge by the time all is said and done next Saturday.

"We have got to think about winning at Chelsea," he said. "I know they haven't lost there for over a 100 games, but it could be like that. Records are there to be broken."

Meanwhile, Blackburn boss Mark Hughes warned his ex side against traveling to Stamford Bridge thinking that the job is already half done.

"Chelsea need to beat United next week, that is the key game," said Hughes.

"United have to lose more points and they have dropped a couple here. Who is to say they won't drop points from now on?"
