I think Vidic was the greatest in the finale. He put Drogba in pocket. Rest of team was also great. Only thing that I would say is THANK YOU UNATED!!!

Got to say. I watched this from a neutral perspective , although i still wanted unted to win, and i thought that Evra was best player on the park.

Edwin for me - He let in a goal so what, he did some good work out there! Also Hargo and Vidic were great.

I just heard a nice little fact about the final.......

The amount of steps United players (led by Sir Bobby) climbed to receive
the trophy was 68 steps.
and it would have been Best's 62nd birthday that night (after midnight)
when they got the trophy.

final so I have a lot of catching up to do.....

25 years since Fergie won with the Deen.......nice

-what did Bayern and Chelsea both do against us during open play?
They both hit the woodwork twice
I think we are blessed in finals sometimes

A few things i want to say about the match:

I don't see how people can say that we were lucky to win the CL.

Lets look at the facts:

when people say we were lucky because Terry slipped, are they forgetting that VDS slipped in the build up to their undeserved goal?
are they also forgetting that they had 2(!) lucky deflections with took the ball into the path of Lampard?

Also, people are saying 'well they hit the post twice', which fair enough they did, but they should remembr that if we had a bit of luck in the 1st half we would have been 3-0 up at HT, which would make it game over.

Also, i have read on another forum that apparently someone got a deaf person to find out what Terry said just before he spat on Tevez, and they said that Terry called Tevez an 'argie', follwed by a 4 letter 'C' word that I won't repeat because i don't want to get in trouble. You can bet your life that if we had done that we would have been battered form all sides.

Also, does anyone remembr a while back when we conceded a penalty and all of our players ran up to the ref and we got slaughtered form the media for it? Well chelsea did the EXACT same atleast 5 times during the match, but does anyone in the media bring this up? Hell no, but you can bet your life that if the boot was on the other foot and we did it all of the papers would have stories of how 'disgraceful' we are.

Same with that Calvalho fould on Ronaldo, if that was from us we would have been 'lucky to still have 11 men on the pitch'.

rant over, oh well, we still won

Your rant has logic in it for a rant
I still can't believe we won it. Not quite sure if it has sunk in.
i'm still pinching myself every day and watching the replays......
We were within a donkey hair of losing......and that losing feeling would still
be killing us to this day, IF it had happened.

I always think that if Terry had scored (or Drogba had been on the pitch to
take that peno) that it would have been 5-2-1 in CL's to Pool-United-Chelsea.
basically we still would have been miles behind the Scousers....
but the difference of a post, one small, tiny, measly post,
its now 5-3-0 in European triumphs and catching those pesky Scousers
while going WELL clear of Chelsea.
I'm still SO happy we did it!!!! Best day EVER

lol and the best thing is that its because of me that we won, i'll tell you why and i swear to god its true.

1. in 1998 when it was england vs argentina it came down to pens, i couldnt watch so i turned the channel over.

result: we lost

2. when it was england vs portuglal in Euro 2004 it went ot pens, i went out of the room as i couldnt watch it.

result: we lost.

3. then in the community shield vs Arsenal a few years back, i though oh well no pressure as its only the community shield so i stayed and watched it.

result: we won

4. In the 2005 FA cup final it cam down to penalties, I couldn't watch so i went to sky sports news instead.

result: we lost

5. In the WC 2006 vs Portugal it came down to pens, I could't watch so i went upstairs to the loo, and just stayed in my room for 15 mins then I came back to see who won.

result: we lost

6. In the 07/08 community shield it came down to penalties and i thought as its only the Community shield i'd stay and watch.

result: we won.

and best of all:

7. In the CL final it came down to penalties, i couldnt watch, so I went upstairs and sat on my bed. Then i went to the loo, i came out and i heard from downstairs, 'chelsea on the brink', so I thought, 'oh great we're losing', then i remembred that when i watch we win and since we must be losing anyway i havn't anything to lose, so i went down stairs, Nani was just about to take it, and he scored, then Terry came and missed, then Anderson scored, then Kalou scored, then giggs stepped up, i was so nervous that i was walking put of the room but something just told me i had to stay, so i did, and Giggs scored, then Anelka missed!

Result: we won!

I swear on my life this is true, and now while i'm a bit in the middle when it comes to believing in god, i honesty felt something tell me to stay for giggs' penalty, a feeling I have never felt before in my life.

this is no pile of lies i'm saying, this is honestly what happened. I will never forget that night as i trully believe we were just meant to win it.
